RE: It wasnt me..
I had the deuce and it was parked in the air park area under the tail of a large plane. I had commo netting over the rear of the truck to keep down the temps.
I don't have it hooked up yet. I have all the parts installed and now I need to test it with my scanner. I think meeting at your house at 6 am sounds good to me. I may probably will take the cucv or my excursion. The fender is much better now. As for now I will plan on being at your house around...
Are you guys planing on heading up Saturday morning or Friday night. If you are leaving Saturday, what time should we plan to meet? It looks like I will be able to make it unless I get drafted at work.
Chuck
I got on Autometer's website and they have a manifold type arrangement to install the sender for the trans temp in the line to the cooler. It looks like they have several types of adapters for installing sending units easily.
They make a similar setup especially for brake bleeds. They include a pressure gauge so you don't over pressure the system. I use it and it is great. I am going to make one for the deuce out of a sprayer. The one I have now has an end cap built on that fits newer ford master cylinders.
I second the above sentiment. When I was the 19 yoa punk I was painfully aware that my rifle could and would save my life. My truck also. Getting broke down in a war zone means leaving the safety of the convoy and sticking it out by yourself until maint can get it going or tow it. Your equipment...
The stock cooler sucks. I have an old snow commander dodge truck and it has an auxiliary cooler that is the same size as an ac condenser. That is by far the best cooler set up I have ever seen on a stock truck and I have never seen an aftermarket cooler anywhere close to that size. Snowplowing...
RE: Is there a place to camp?
I emailed my contact and he provided the following response.
Chuck,
Our official line is that there is no camping for spectators, but that is between the campee and airport police.....
The Wayne county fairgrounds are about a mile away and have camping there...
RE: Is there a place to camp?
I could have camped if I wanted to but I am registered as a participant. I do know that they have an area for using civy tents but I am not sure of the rules they have on spectators. I have been talking to Christopher Causley as he is the point of contact for the...
I will definitely look you up. My son Ty is wanting to do some WWII reenacting and is looking for someone to ask how he can get into it. He is saving up for a Garand from CMP. I hope to get there Saturday around 7am or so. I have the another cover. The headlight covers are cloudy. If it got to...
Is anyone else attending Thunder over Michigan this weekend at Willow Run Airport in Ypsilanti? I will be taking the deuce out. Both my children will be attending also.
I finally had time to look get under the hood of this thing. I found that there was a module missing. It is the A-2000 module the best I can tell. Now I need to find one if anyone knows a source. I was able to fix the sticking freq knob. It was a cam slightly misaligned and I was able to get it...
It has a turbo. The round thing coming off the bottom of the exhaust manifold is it. It has 3 tube connections. Exhaust out, air in from cleaner, and air out to the intake.
No glow plugs make it ok to us the either injection on the deuce. We had it stock on the 900 series five tons when I was in. I am no expert but I think the only problem is when the either comes in contact with a hot glow plug that is hotter than the flash temp for the either.
We used to have trouble with the SINGARS loosing the key. The problem is you need all the radios programed with the proper "key" with a key encoder. They were new at the time and may have fixed the problem.
