the synchromesh is expensive. it is meant to transmissions that are designed for it. I wouldn't spend the extra $$$$ for something that won't do any extra good. How long has the military ran the basic stuff??? it works for them
From the other thread it looks like the PTO mounts to the engine to run the winch? Is that correct? Does anyone know of a commerical appilication in which the pump would be on there.
Ok i see what you did there.
The fuel selector switch is a good way to go, it is a few more parts and a bit more effort. But i think it is one of the best ways to do it.
Yes something like that.
Can you go into detail on how you did it?
I was thinking of doing something like the M52 trucks have. Using the existing lift pump in the secondary tank and just pushing a button or a switch to transfer fuel to the existing tank.
I have a nice cargo truck M35a2 with a winch, heater, soft top, turbo, title and nice paint in pa that I would sell. let me know if you are interested.
I also have a few m109a3 that I would sell as well.
Other then ebay you have government liquidations you can buy from
Or GSA has the...
If you are going to get a tractor and use it for off roading, it might be better to get some weight over the rear axles. That 5th wheel plate does not weight as much as a cargo bed does. without any weight you don't have traction and your tires will just spin.
Also if you go for super...
I put my spare on the decking in front of the 5th wheel. I cheated a bit and used a backhoe.
The 900 series trucks have a chain block setup to lift the tire and wheel up. You could make something similar to the 900 series mount to help lift it.
Can I use the turbo from a 400 or will it produce too much boost? I still didn't get a chance to get the parts from the engine. I am thinking it might be an m915 engine. I was going to get the jakes and the turbo setup for my 250. I understand the hood clearence issue, I am also concerned if...
ok the frame brackets and the winches are the same. the PTO should fit and work the same. Your drive shaft is different. the M814 would need a longer drive shaft then the M51 has because of the motor length difference. but the other parts should be the same. If you are getting it cheap I...
I have a set of the older H2 rims. they are 8 lug they are the same bolt pattern. You have to machine the center hole to make it larger to fit over the hubs. The wheels and tires will stick out a bit further. A set of fender flares will take care of that issue.
I have seen a guy pulling a M105 with a crown vic police car. He used a ball hitch and had it tied to the hitch with wire rope.
THen I remember the story about the guy pulling the M105 in tandeum. Having to strap them together to get it to pull straight.
So we have done some pretty...
