    M44a2 engine mods

11 PSI is a happy medium we use for flow testing. It's not at idle and not at max output. The easiest way to tell a C from a D is to look at the tag. But if you have heard one before you can hear a C wistle from very long distances. Some love the wistle and others can't stand it. The D model...

    M44a2 engine mods

Beleve it or not the stock turbos will put out more CFM's than the engine can digest. I'm working on a "d" model here at work and have gotten it to push 618CFM at 11PSI on the test bench. When i got it it produced 523CFM at 11PSI. I've done alot of machine work to the charge air casing and...

    master cylinder without vent line?

I got in the hannit of checking brake fluid each time i drive it. I had the brakes fail before and i check it to keep me from wondering each time i hit the pedal. So i guess the air has a chance to get in or out when i pull the cap.

    m1028a1 np205 extension housing cracked

The rear drive shaft on my 1028 is bent. Another forklift victom! And i'll be swapping to the old stlye tail shaft on mine. I think they are much stronger! My tailshaft looks ok but i like the stub and slip yolk much better.

    master cylinder without vent line?

Mine was vented untill i drove it through deep water "just over the hood" during a tropical storm. After flushing the brake system i plugged it off. And it's been that way since 2001. I wouldn't think it will hurt anything.

    M34 difference

I haven't seen the truck yet. But i was under the impression theat the only difference was a hub flip. As far as the axles go. I will probally install 10 9.00-20's and the old M35 bed.

    M34 difference

I got the chance to get a M34 for my favorite price. FREE! I just have to drag it home. Im going to look at it this weekend. I'm told it's a m34 with the bed missing and still a gasser. And that it has 11.00-20's with singles in the rear. Is the axle spacing different in the rear. I know the bed...

got my first deuce how bad did i get burned?

Make sure everybody is full of oil and Stop every 10 miles or so and recheck. Rember these trucks are very dourable and will tolorate a lot of abuse before quitting. Try not to drive over 45 MPH. Get what ever gear oil you can find. For the trip home. The wrong oil is much better than no oil...

    Rusty fuel tank problem(s)

Can you put a magnetic plug where the drain plug is? Or put a mag on the inside of the tank that you can reach when low on fuel. And then just remove and clean it?

Anyone know what typerwriter oil is?

it's minerial oil. Take your mutli to the gas station. Dump the oil in the tank then fill the truck with diesel. The IP will love the lube!!!

    Trailer Wiring for Deuce

If you go with the led's get yourself a trailor plug harness from front line or saturn. Not sure but i think old iron has them also. Then you don't have to cut the truck wiring and the metal tags will tell you what goes where. Or you could get some mill tail lights and have both civi tail lights...

Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

Since the truck has benn sitting in the same spot for a few days take a bucket and pull the drain from the fuel tank. Let any water/trash come out and put the plug back in before you over flow bucket. I'd also take fuel filters and oil filters. Although you can't change the oil replacing the...

    Safe Starting Fluid ?

If it hasen't leaked down and the in tank fuel pumps works. Then let the pump run for a minute and try to start it with about 1/8 to 1/4 throttle. It should fire pretty fast. But i would turn it over with the engine stop pulled to let the oil pressuere come up. If you batteries are in good shape.

    Turning up the ip

You should see a seat of the pants difference. But don't expect it to win any drag races. I think 1/4 turn is the max. You can experment untill you get it where you like it.

    Turning up the ip

Your going to need a good 3/32 allen whench. Not a chinese one!. The screw is very hard to turn. And a cheesie wrench will dammage the hex . If your standing at the drivers side front tire you will turn the screw clock wise. But don't go past 1/4 turn. Your EGT's will go skyhigh. Also after your...
