congratulations! thats a good lookin truck. fyi the winches suck. id be happy to come take it off for you, and save you the headache. ill even haul it back with me so you do have to worry about it anymore.
i just did all 6 of mine. i bought the whole torque rod assembly from TNJMURRAY for 125.00 each. i thought that was a good deal since ive seen them around the 225-275 ea. mark. wasnt all that bad to do. what sucked was the uppers. i sure wish i would have had that NAPA socket. i couldnt get...
yeah thats true. i may give it a shot. ill be there one way or another. we are bringing that rock buggy out. i think im still recovering from driving it back from your place:-D. it never did loose power again. i guess all that crud in the tank finally got out of there.
ill be there one way or another. thats a long haul for me in the deuce, but who knows. i just installed a spring seat, muffler, new torque rods, seals, ect. may be a good time to try them out.
usually run 45-50 with an occasional burst of WOT. I may need to get a pyro, and turn the fuel up. lost a drag race in a merge lane with a motor home yesterday.
no sure about your tire pressure, but i have a F550 utility truck. its supposed to have 95 psi cold in the tires. if they leak down to around 50 or so it will bounce around like crazy. maybe you are running low pressure. im in the process of getting the same tires for mine. i couldnt...
im watching some that are right up the road from me. 2 of them are up over 1600 dollars. The rest are at 600 and climbing fast. the bidding just started today! guess i wont be getting one of them.
i agree. you just have to impulse buy. i drove mine back 8 hrs in a freakin monsoon with NDT's on it. Never driven one before in my life....scary. i love it though. its a blast to drive around. already spent more than i paid for it in parts, but thats par for the course. as far as safety...
thanks ill check that. ill go buy some paint stripper tonight. on another note about my new noise that i suspected was the transmission. got under the truck yesterday to check the rear diff levels. one of the upper torque rods had fallen off. ive got the new ones just havent replaced them...
thats funny mine just started making a noise too. i thought the transmission was going out because it would only do it in 5th gear. when it started doing it the other day i pushed in the clutch, and put the transmission in neutral....still got the noise. now i have no clue. its kind of a...
well the data plate is missing. i hear you though it would make it easier. maybe i can locate a data plate somewhere, and stamp in my own info. is a data plate something you can get?
thanks ill check on that. here is what im worried about though. i got it in Alabama. it was registered in AL, but not titled. (they don't require titling on something that old) i have to have a title in florida. to get a title i have to provide a bill of sale, and the most current alabama...
well i gave it a shot. unfortunately it didnt fix it. as far as the noise that i thought was the transmission goes....when it did it again i pushed in the clutch, and put the trans in neutral. still got the noise, so now im back to square one. i think what im gonna do is just drive it to that...
wouldn't mind doing this to mine. just out of curiosity would it make any power difference? i wouldn't think so, but in the same breath i would hate to be lacking anymore power than it already has.
thanks everybody! i just got home last night, so today ive started looking for the vin number. im also letting the engine idle as we speak with ATF in the transmission. in a few minutes ill go drain it, and fill it with the right oil and take it for a ride. fingers crossed that is. :roll...
