I pulled the marker light brackets and grille today so I can have Poof sandblast them for me to clean them up. I noticed that when I pulled the marker light brackets there was water trapped between them and the fender. I was wondering what the thought is of placing washers between the bracket...
Well I've had my deuce for a little over a month now and I love it. I wasn't sure how much I'd like the built cargo cover but before plotting it's demise I decided to leave it as is for a while. After camping in it for a few nights while at the parade by MikeInMcCoy I realised how much I enjoy...
Well, the minds have met, we have planned, and well okay so we drank and played with fire also. So take this as an open invite to all that have an MV or interest in the MV hobby to the Fall eddition of PoofStalk 2010. We decided that it was best to change the name from PoofStock to PoofStalk...
I know there are many threads out there on this subject, however, I need some more detailed help on the installation. Here is what I've tried so far.
I of course tried to just grease the spindle and push the new seal on by hand, now everyone say "that doesn't work". Of course I didn't think...
I will be going to Fort McCoy on Monday to preview some items and to check on my truck(pending EUC). If anyone wants anything previewed send me a PM and I will let you know what I think. Or if you have a message for Mike let me know. Maybe I'll bring some doughnuts for him. I just hope poof...
The family and I will be making the annual trip to Albany, NY. We will be there from the 30th to about the 7th. Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy my in-laws and will be spend quality time with my father-in-law at Saratoga Springs, love the ponies, but I still enjoy a day trip here and there...
I recently was given a Jerry Can from a member, Poof, and picked one up at a local flee market, 7Mile Fair. Both nice solid cans with some surface rust but no holes. So today I started on the one I picked up from the fair because it needs lots of work. I used a rustoleum product called rust...
I heard that Ft McCoy has pretty nice outing on Armed Forces Day. The problem is that I can't seem to find anything on their website about it. From what it sounds like it should be close to Dozer Days at the Halquist Stone Quarry here by me. I really don't want to pack the family, and...
So I am on vacation again this week and when that happens my time is used for the wildest things. **** last time I was off I found this site and GL and my wife is still mad at me for taking that week off. So here is my question, has anyone ever painted a deuce flat black or know of where I...
Well after the great rally we had at Poof's place I finally have my wife tipping towards that great phrase we all love, yes you may have a deuce. So I am trying to get a day off next week to go to McCoy to preview a few trucks. Here's my problem, I've never done this before and I'm not sure...
Has anyone seen/previewed the trucks at Ellsworth? Has anyone gotten a truck out of there that could report on the quality the generally have?
Thank you
How durable are the soft tops to the elements? Is there anything special I can do to extend the life of a soft top? I am closer and closer to buying a truck on GL and I want to make sure I do all my home work so forgive me if I ask alot of questions.
As always thank you.
What date is the truck really? The listing says it's a 1966,69,71... and the NSN procurment date is 1985. Is it an earlier build that was rebuilt in 85?
Thank you all.
Has anyone ever put a 7.3 from an older Ford Super Duty into a Deuce? If so how easy/difficult was it? Why would you consider/not consider doing it? Is there a better choice for a diesel only in the A2? Am I crazy for even thinking of this? I have come to my senses (my wife beat me down)...
Can anyone explain the built cargo cover to me? It appears to be some 2x4's with sheet metal screwedto the side. Are they removable, stable worth having?
As always thank you.
I was hoping I could get some opinions on the M944A1 shop trucks. They look similar to the M35A3 but I know there are mechanical and other differences. I just would like to know are they a sloid and reliabe platform and how difficult is it to get rid of the box they come with and install a...
I am close to the auction close of an A3 and if all goes well it will be mine. I was told the truck was driven to the lot but that was a while ago and no one is really sure it will start on its own now. I will be using my diesel F350 with a trailer to go and get it but I would like to drive it...
