    Multifuel Deuce Injector Pump Lube

All the way back in 1970 the Army told us to never burn straight gasoline, that the multi-fuel function was only for emergency situations and that if we did use gasoline to try and use it at no more than 50% with diesel. We were never instructed to add motor oil or any other additive. I have a...

    MEP003A Running The House Again

I'm not sure about dates of manufacture for the MEP003A. All I know is that I'm quite happy with mine. Highly recommended genset.

    MEP003A Running The House Again

The utility power is now back on after running the MEP003A for a little over 20 hours continuously. I paid $1556.58, including buyers premium, back in 2009 for the generator. I recovered it from Fort Jackson, SC. It had recently come back from Kuwait and had previously been in Japan before...

    MEP003A Running The House Again

I wasn't aware that the glow plugs and heaters were active during cranking. Thanks.

    MEP003A Running The House Again

Preheating for around 25 seconds or so results in the starter only being required for about 5 - 10 seconds in summertime as opposed to around 20 seconds without preheat. Saves the starter.

    MEP003A Running The House Again

We lost power again this evening. Happens every month or two. The MEP003A is up and running, powering the whole house. Started in about 10 seconds after heating glow plugs for 25 seconds. I noticed this evening, however, that the percent load meter is reading zero, regardless of load. The...

    Broke my mirror

On both my M35A2 and M35A3, there is no threaded rod. The upright is solid, with studs sticking out both ends. You are fortunate that this upright is the same on both the A2 and A3. I've broken two of these in the past on my A3 and found replacements for $5.00 and $10.00 at the Georgia Rally...

How badly did AM General screw up? This badly...

I suspect the Oshkosh JLTV will actually improve as time goes on. The initial production run of any vehicle often have small issues that show up and are corrected by future design changes.

Need ATV Moved from Salt Lake City, Utah to North Georgia

I need a Kubota RTV 900XT picked up and moved from Salt Lake City to North Georgia the last week in April. This ATV weighs approximately 1918 Lbs. It runs, but has a significant engine oil leak while running.

    HMMWV Battery Polarity Keeps Reversing?

That sock appears to be in very good shape. I think I'd leave it alone and worry about your reverse charging issue if it was me.

    I Got IT!!! M35A2C

Congratulations on scoring your deuce. They are a lot of fun and very reliable if proper PM is performed.

    Best laid plans...

The fuel shut off would have nothing to do with the engine not turning over. That would be an electrical issue.

    Best laid plans...

I'm assuming you are talking about the injection pump / hydraulic head. What were the symptoms that led you to believe it had failed? Very nice looking deuce by the way.

    Coil Question

The reason some of the auto makers continued to use 6V coils with a ballast resistor was to create a hotter spark during starting. The resistor was bypassed when starting, providing 12V to the coil. When the key was returned to the run position, the ballast resistor cut the voltage to 6V.

    Coil Question

Always use GI coils if possible. The Chinese coils are absolutely junk.

GREAT Looking WINCH FOR THE 530C.

Congratulations on successfully troubleshooting the errant deuce. It's almost always something simple, but finding that simple cause can be difficult. The winch looks good!

    MEP-003A High Voltage Fixed !

I'm glad you got your genset working again. Thanks for posting your results, which can definitely help others with similar problems. I previously had a similar issue with my MEP003A with high voltage, but my problem turned out to be a bad regulator. I purchased a used regulator, but also...

    MEP-003 - Fuel Pump Issue?

Don't try bench testing the pumps using a 24 VDC battery charger. I made that mistake years ago. The pumps simply buzzed and wouldn't pump, but when hooked to the batteries they worked fine.

    Fired up the Deuce today.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife. If the batteries are good, it's amazing how a deuce will fire right up after sitting a long time. I was told that my A2 had been sitting for over six months without being started when I recovered it. As you mentioned, the engine spun fast and fired right up...
