You can get a GL truck registered with your state before pick up? That's handy. In CA it only took three trips to the DMV, one with the truck and I felt lucky.
I didn't say it was hard to do. Actually, I did it myself. Heck, it was so easy, a caveman coulda done it.
I've talked to a lot of people who think they are covered no matter what they drive - rental, new car off the lot, friends car, etc. Some, like you are. Many are not, but this...
My insurance company told me the same thing - they won't touch anything over 10,000 pounds. If I would have just assumed I had 30 days and then had an accident I would be in deep chit.
I agree and think you are completely correct - for the part of the recovery that was OFF BASE.
I guarantee that every base has a minimum set of requirements for someone to legally operate a vehicle on base. What is happening at MOST bases is those requirements aren't being enforced (or even...
State laws usually have little bearing concerning ON BASE regulations. Seldom will a commander make them more relaxed than a state law, but often they are more restrictive. SOCAL bases were way ahead of CA state law banning cell phones while driving. I mean totally banning them, not even with...
It's NOT a GL policy. They have ZERO authority over driving on base. Those rules are set by area commanders. Sometimes the base commander sometimes the region commander. If a set of restrictions are applied to a base or bases, it was NOT done by GL.
Those rules might be in place BECAUSE of...
Soldier B will clean mine and change the filters as long as I keep the cable TV and high speed internet lines running to his room.
Other shops will probably want MORE.
This seems like the type of job someone could easily do in a Walmart parking lot.
If you have a contaminated fuel problem, the truck will take care of - "I cannot stop driving" for you.
Lots of good suggestions in this tread, you need to find a place to work and take action on some of them. Fixing the fuel pump, draining the tank (and cleaning), and changing filters are all...
I put 11.00s on my deuce not to increase speed, but to reduce engine RPMs at my usual 50-52 MPH highway speeds. Fuel mileage probably improved since the engine isn't turning as many RPMs, but I don't track my deuce mileage.
Don't get me wrong, I in no way think having registration, insurance, etc makes anything any safer. I just have a hard time understanding why some people feel they are entitled to do something that the men and woman who work on these bases CAN NOT do. Towing your purchase off bases doesn't...
