Hi Chris,
In your last post that is what I built. You would be very happy with that setup, it is just not a Cummins!
Don't forget the tcm eprom version specifically made for each year of the 4L80E.

Have you used a fuel additive lubricant, like Stanadyne, to keep the ip's lubed when using ultra low sulpher fuel. Also, check the fuel return lines for fuel/blockage.
HI Augi,
Welcome to the site and you have a good looking original M998. It looks nice and clean.
Bite the bullet and buy a new KDS controller (either green label or yellow with yellow gpc). Then replace all glow plugs with new regulated non swelling (do not by kashcar ones for they do break)...
I just found out that I cannot make this meeting and I am sorry that I cannot attend. I was looking forward to getting there and seeing everyone in person and not on boobtube.
Chuck, if we can find someone from my area going, I am more than happy to tranfer over the items you want.
Welcome from Lansing MI!
The M101 3/4t trailer lunett will fit all WWII jeeps and WC's and M series smaller trucks (m37) and jeeps/mutts including hmmwv's/cucv's/880's etc. Big trucks are, well, bigger. It is a standard size but I have never measured it. Fitting should be snug but not tight.
No worries 3dAngus.
Your tcase picture is a 218. Look at two things: output shaft requires a ujoint shaft and the case has the markings of a 218 (look at area on top front of case: smooth without ribs).
A 242 output is a splin shaft with slip yoke.
A 242 will work in a civi H1 for that is...
See picture:
top one is a 218 taken out of a M998 hmmwv, and the bottom one is a 242 that was put in as a replacement.
I've worked on both and the OP picture is a 218.
That is a NP218 transfer case in the picture. It was used on the first series hmmwv's and I believe the 92-93 H1's. The later series use the NP242. You will need to change your rear propellor and the rear half of the front propellor. I would not use it since it is a weaker transfer case than...
I have seen a Norwegian return WC63 that had a roll up winter grill cover that was behind the grill, before the radiator. It looked and acted like a spring loaded window blind only it was mounted at the bottom and the cover was pulled up to block the cold air. It was controlled by the driver...
A military hmmwv 6.5TD does not rely on a computer. It is mechanical. The 4L80E uses a TCM. I find it funny that you are concerned about fuel mileage with an mv! lol
For a standard 6.2 in a hmmwv, make sure you have the rubber boot on the air filter box intake side. It is the one used for...
For us hmmwv guys, it is a no no to mix 8 bolt rims and radial tires. I get many hmmwv's in with this mix and I change them asap. Remember, they were changed for a reason!
Eric, give me a heads up of about 2 months and the meeting can be at my place (home or business). Have a great meeting before the storm starts. Have fun!

My last couple of builds are on another good mv site (gee, I wonder what I mean) including my M1038 project.
He is having his very nice truck painted in that sceme AND yes, he could have worded his post better! I sent him a picture of hopefully what he is after.
