Painted today
I painted about half of my M923 today. Got the cab, some interior and other parts. Didn't get to the bed or the underside yet. Hopefully soon. Didn't cut it with anything, used it straight up. Was a little thick though.
New bed access
Needed a better way to access the bed than bringing a ladder for passengers to get in. Found a boat transom ladder they were going to throw out. Cleaned up the ladder in the blaster, primed and painter the unit. Looked for the best way to mount it on the tail gate. I figured...
Welcome from another Massachusetts member, Cape Cod to be exact. The OT90 looks like a blast to drive and I could use the smoke screen feature on some days ;)
1954 COE thanks for a great post! Carnac, thank you for your service and as the say in the U.S. Coast Guard, Fair Winds and Following Seas Colonel. Enjoy your retirement and don't forget your past.
Welcome from Cape Cod. I have done a lot of work with Vintage Iron and he does great work. If he doesn't reply on this site contact him on facebook at A and H recon.
Welcome to the site and the 5 ton club from Cape Cod, MA. I purchased my M923 back in April also and completed a lot of work (see some of my other posts). Am having a good time working on the truck and driving it so enjoy. Lots of good info on this site.
Great show
Was there most of the day Saturday. Thanks to all for putting on a great show and doing all the work to make things go so smoothly. Wish there were more parts for my 5 ton. Didn't find anything I really needed but a few things that I couldn't live without. Here are a few more pics...
Welcome from Cape Cod and nice trailer. My military trailer purchase, M105A2, caused me to have to buy a 5 ton M923! Watch out the green disease is pretty bad;). My trailer is a little larger than yours as you can see I the photo!
With the help of "Vintage Iron" changed an oring on a leaky tire. Installed a set of boat air horn trumpets "tee'ed" off at the existing horns. Will post pictures when I make a better bracket instead of zip ties. Now those people who like to cut off a 10 ton vehicle will have a little attention...
Welcome to the club
Congratulations and welcome to the club! I am also a fairly new club member. Have had my 1984 M923 for a couple of months and have done a ton (5 tons!) of work so far with more in the future.
