That cake reminded me of some of the work I've seen on some of the cooking shows that had professional cake decorators. My daughter was thinking of being a chef for a while so we'd watch the show together. I think this lady could compete with some of the work those pros did.
We used to have a shop truck that I was able to stand up in, and I'm 6' 1". We also had sheets of white fiberglass like the kind lining semi trailers over the ribs and under the tarp. It helped keep water out and made it brighter inside since we had our parts and tool cabinets in the back. I...
I just talked to a guy in my unit that was with the Tenth Mountain in Somalia, he said yes they did have Deuces there. They did also use 5 tons, so both are correct.
Spencer, if the guy doesn't know that the buzzer is for low air, HE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING THE TRUCK!!! Especially as an emergency vehicle. He obviously has not had enough training, and most likely the rest of the firefighters haven't either.
I didn't say he should not be using a deuce for...
Welllll, I wasn't gonna go that far. I was thinking with the wheel covers, stainless stack and a coat of clear gloss (over OD green), it would kinda resemble a soldier in his Dress Greens. Maybe a couple of other embellishments like chrome mirrors too. But all that stuff would be easy to...
I could just get a big sheet of silver mylar like they use for those balloons and make a tarp too!!
(Warning: I'm already a bit warped, so encouraging me doesn't help the situation!)
:-P
Ok, another one for you. Can you get stainless steel or chrome wheel covers that fit the wheels on a deuce? Or baby moons for the back wheels? I'm thinking that with a stainless exhaust and glossy clear coat might make a classy ride. Still in dreaming mode.
If they had the turrets on, they may be too tall to truck on a flatbed. They could possibly be going to Ft. Dix for Mob. training.
So far I've been in an RG-33, A Caiman, and Drove and rode in a MaxxPro Plus.
The MaxxPro is like driving an armored beach ball, the thing bounces all over the...
I wouldn't call a stock HMMWV a comfortable ride by any stretch of the imagination, especially if you're tall like me. Evidently, the designers have never heard of ergonomics, and are all about 5' 2" tall. But they will go about anywhere with a halfway decent driver. I think they'll...
Your VFD SHOULD NOT be running that truck if you don't have the proper manuals and training for your Firefighters. I'm on a fulltime FD as well as a paid on call VFD. Our VFD requires that each FF receives 6 hours of drive time and operations on EACH truck BEFORE they can take it on an...
I don't know that attaching seatbelts to the benches would be the best way to do it. Since the stock bench is only secured at the hinge point, it may be better to secure the belts to the floor using grade 8 bolts and fender washers. Also a way to positively secure the bench in the down...
OK, been doing some research, but I have two questions that I didn't find an answer for.
1. Do you need a CDL in Ohio for a deuce?
2. How much modification can you do on a deuce and still get antique plates? I'm talking super singles and maybe moving the bed back to enlarge the cab...
You should be able to pull the valve cover and see the position of the valves. If your lucky maybe one of the valve spring retainers popped out, but I've only seen that on the gas motor. Hopefully you caught it before any serious damage was done.
Army70deuce, I know you want to keep the winch, but another option is to weld in a 2" receiver front and back and use an electric winch mounted in a cradle that will fit into the front or back receiver. That also gives you more flexibility in winching. You just need to run a line front and...
Hello everyone! I'm eventually planning on buying a deuce since I sold my pickup (worn out) and I just can't see spending 40-50K for a new 1 ton. It will be a couple of years before I can afford to buy, but window shopping free right? Anyway, I have in mind some mods I'd like to do.
