Backing Plate? Are you meaning "Cluster Housing"??? Hard item to find. If you can use the one you have and make everything work. You would be better off. I can't say I ever seen or used an aftermarket cluster housing.
OK so we are talking air filter intake muffler and ductwork? Now I think I understand. I was picturing an intake adater like a HMMWV has so you could install a cone type K & N filter.
It will start again. It will run again. But it is totally wasted internally. I would not bother rebuilding that one. It sounds like a new engine is in order. If you are lucky it will get you home. I had a few plow trucks bleed out from oil cooler line failure. They ran about 1/2 an hour more...
I know you can do that. That is easy peasy stuff. Besides you know you want to tear into anyway. That is how I always am. I get into things I never dealt with before on a weekly basis. I do my research and look at parts break downs and tear into it. The mechanics what you to think it is rocket...
I would just simply remove the belts and possibly remove the pump from the brackets. I would thoroughly clean the area and reattach the pump. Make sure the fitting it tight and clocked in the correct position. That is what happens. They get the fitting tight and push the hose because the...
Do as you wish. After 25 years and countless CUCV's I still use the 13 G AC Delco and have the entire system stock. And that is all I am going to say about it. Do NOT use Wellman glow plugs. Or you can I won't. The 13G are still available and I seldom change them.
Major break from my projects that are lining my driveway. Many Kubota issues to deal with. And Kubota parts are EXPENSIVE. Most jobs I get are because dealers charge $100+ an hour to diagnose and work on things. I do it at a fraction of the cost and don't punch in and out for every little detail...
And when I look at these pictures I can see it would be a task to raise the roof but it would not require and changing of the rear header or doors. I think most people could live with the lower rear opening if they could get more headroom. I hand dug my basement out so I could swing an axe in...
There are Professional Mechanics, and then there are parts changers.
And I am neither. But looking under that hood it does have issues. Pictures are hard to make out what is going on in that smoke show. Good Luck.
I have seen that before. I use TRS as an ahesive and use the felpro oil pan gasket. I am not into plain old RTV sealant. It was fine when brand new. But I never acheived the same results no matter how hard I tried on older stuff. I seen it in the oil pump screen from valve covers that were...
If you were near PA I have a few M1010's bodies I will be parting with soon. You could cut the top off of yours and add part of the side walls and top to yours from my donor parts. Make it 6ft+ inside. Nicer than the stooped over M1010 inside. Good Luck.
Oil cooler as in the radiator? Did the oil cooler line fail and clog internally. I am sure the loose battery connection has nothing to do with the oil cooler or the oil cooler line. 100% positive they are NOT related. Not sure unless I was able to see it. It may have modifications to the system...
A friend sent me this picture. I designed this wrap back in 2013 for my new 2014 Silverado before it arrived. It was an all brown truck and I was going to have the truck completely wrapped in the 3 color camouflage. Great idea. I sent the pictures to the local graphic design shop. They wanted...
Your truck was built with a NON EGR intake. The CUCV's were emissions exempt. So yes just get an injection pump for a J code. Actually just order the pump on line and they will send a self addressed mailer for you to attach to return your core. Not saying you will get the exact same pump back...
For all intended proposes one can simply take a motorcycle innertube and cut a short section out of it and clamp/zip tie/duct tape it fast if you are looking for function not form. It works. I used it on other vehicles that were Off Road use only. Or for temporary if you are that fussy. It works...
Anything you inject/place into that hollow steel cavern is going to do nothing but promote rust. I cut these roofs off when they were 10 years old and they were very rusty inside. I would opt to live with the noise or buy a simple screw in stock style headliner. That will add sound deadener and...
