Though trip either way. I've done it 3 times in a 26' Uhaul. 56mph governed. The drive though NM and west Tx is a nightmare at that speed. I would buy a truck after moving. Of course my workshop, alone, will not fit on a deuce. Good luck either way. If you come through Tucson feel free to look...
A 50+ year old design with that kind of track record. By modern standards weak? Perhaps. By my standards it is pretty cool.
My 03 SD 6.0L has 350hp and 525ft/lbs by comparison. While the emissions are considerably lower the MPG is not much better and at half the weight.
These trucks are like...
Don't worry, I am not planning to tow to deuce on the highway. If I pull it anywhere it will be a local lot or a shop just off base where I can work on it. I am not looking to get myself or anyone else squished.
I already have a commercial insurance policy on it that will cost me almost $1000 a...
I will be going to San Antonio 5/9/11
I will be empty, less items essential to recover an M35.
If you need an inspection, I will try.
If you need someone or something transported, I will try.
Persons/items must be legal.:-)
I will be driving an F250 SBCC. I can drag almost anything and have...

If the proverbial $h!t hits the fan would you consider being my emergency contact? I'm looking for someone local to put out the call if I get stuck.
Hopefully won't need it, but it pays to be prepared. At least a shoulder to cry on or someone to point me toward a place to get a drink in...
I really appreciate it but I don't know how I would get it back to you. Shipping on these things is a nightmare I am sure. Freight I suspect. I thought the heavy bar was in the 200# range??? With feet and what not.
Thanks
Man you are a rock-star. If we do this, is there a day of the week that is best for you? I really could not expect or ask you to drive that far for me. I can load up in the wifes little Dakota and be there in a few hours on a day of your choosing.
Yeah, if I can I will certainly look at whatever you like. I was going to post a "Preview/do you need anything hauled thread" in the next day or two. I really hate spending all that time and money driving an empty truck.
That is very generous. I may take you up on it. The only problem is you are 180 mile in the opposite direction. If I were to take you up on it I would have to drive up there on, Sunday to Tuesday, go pick up the truck the following Mon-Wed, and then drive up and return the bar the following...
I am driving from Tucson in my super duty w/ my tools. Ideally, I am planning to get the truck running and tow the SD home with the deuce. I was hoping to find something locally. Just a stab in the dark.
I may just have to buy one and sell it later. No problem though.
I am adapting the...
Anyone local have a tow bar they want to part with for a few days. I would buy it outright and sell it back less a service fee. Or keep it. It would be up to the owner. I thought I would have 1 more week, but lo and behold when you want inefficiency it will not be there.
You are right but are they really going to be any worse than NoDirectionalTreads.
I worry about the power too. 13000 truck + 7300 trailer + ??? # of something + offroad - 130hp/330ft/# - NDTs = Stuck in the boonies.
I like the look of the m1061 and m998 (not 998a1). You would have to be careful tough. 13000 # behind almost any deuce is going to put you at 26,000 GCW and into class A territory. I was looking at these myself.
It turns out I can legally haul more behind the Superduty than the deuce. GCWR is...
