I stuck a 1" wood dowel in the bypass hose and drilled a 5/16 hole in it, it made no difference that I could tell, it did seem like a good idea though.
I ended up pulling it out and again no difference.
What I said, for example the two stroke Detroits with their average 17:1 compression ratio and the older Waukesha diesels with their 16:1 can tolerate ether, the high compression diesels like the 6.2L and 6.5L with their 21.5/22.5:1 and most "modern" high speed diesels cannot, it is based on...
I am just curious why you need to replace the injectors? they are relatively trouble free, the only ones I have ever had to replace were ones that leaked down causing a nasty knock that sounded like a rod coming loose.
Well that was fast, received the half shafts today, ordered Thursday afternoon, delivered on Saturday.
Now I have to pull the FAV chassis out of the bay so I can get the DuraVee on the lift!
Is the face of the flex plate teeth flattened out enough to interfere with the bendix engagement? That is what I would suspect, a little work with a small triangle file might do the trick, it does not look like that much tooth missing, not ideal or pretty but much less work.
Many remove the check valves including me, I have never heard of any problems with it, the same engine in the civilian world does not have check valves.
The fuel pump and the IP pump already have check valves.
First thing I would do is remove both check valves, 40PSI is way too much pressure for your tank, I only put as much pressure as a rag wrapped around my air nozzle would allow, maybe 4-5psi.
It sounds like your tank is contaminated and the sock is plugged, if you have an access plate above the...
The "danglers" are just unused wires that have been capped, those aluminum sleeves around the wires are the wire tags, they have numbers/letters on them.
Another thing is look about in the middle of the passenger side valve cover and see if it looks like something is missing the CDR valve is likely missing, if so one of the open fittings lead directly into the intake, bad JUJU if something gets in there, for now plug those holes.
The first picture is of the TSU connector, the TSU is on the crossover, also as Mullaney said the TM will ID the wires after you read the tag numbers.
Also you need to know what engine you have the 6.5L has a different cross over than the 6.2L.
If you post the tag numbers we can help ID the...
OK so I like to think I am a smart guy but sometimes I am a total D.A., went out to start grinding the welds on the roof, put on safety goggles, hearing protection and a brand new course flappy wheel on my 4 1/2" grinder, this is certainly not my first rodeo with a grinder, the very first thing...
Went and picked up the roof and dash from my metal guys, as usual they did a good job, I actually expected them to cut the roof off square and put a piece in, seems that would have been easier but they installed a patch to match the mutilation done by the DOE.
The dash looks good, they also...
Good deal on surviving the storm a cat 4 is no picnic, the wife is visiting her sister in Greensboro NC, it looks like a plentiful amount of rain headed their way.
