Seems like an easy bolt to find, you don't have a fastener business in Henderson? get grade 8 that is all you are going to get with the NSN number.
A simple web search came up that HPG has 62 in stock if you are determined to get "real" bolts...
These things are also bad about cracking cylinders and of course heads, if it gets to the point they pull the heads make sure they find the problem.
I don't think I would even bother doing heads on a non GEP engine, I would try and source a good GEP replacement.
A gorgeous blue unrestricted Texas Title showed up today!!!
EDIT, it does have a notation that it is a bonded title, in three years I am supposed to be automatically issued a clear title.
I bought a set of used Porsche 944 torsion bars which are 24MM for 39.15 SHIPPED!
To show the difference the bug weighs 1700lb and used 22MM bars, the fastback weighs 2200lb and used 23mm bars, the 944 weighs in at 2800lbs and uses 24MM bars.
The FAV weighs in at 1640lb and had 27mm bars, 24MM...

I am seeking advice from the off road guys, but this thing will...
OK, NOW I can say the chassis is fully stripped!
The second torsion bar did not come out any easier than the first, it only seemed that way because I was better equipped to do the job, no problem bending the 3/4" pull plate and the added luxury of being able to beat on the other end made it...
Gear oil is much thicker than ATF , as far as I can remember the viscosity weights are directly related from gear oil to automatic transmission fluid to engine oil.
Air World transmission in Houston.
Not a big shop but I have always been pleased with the work and knowledge.
Are you thinking of installing a 700R4? if so I may have something that will get you to a good start.
