If I missed anyone or you forgot to mention something and are to lazy to go back and review post #106.... here it is again. let us know if it's all correct for the Saturday night dinner....
Well, chime in on the haspin thread and let everyone know your coming to the rally and if your bringing guests.. so I can add you to the dinner list... unless you don't plan on joining us for dinner on Saturday...
Chris, it's a camp anywhere on over 850 acres offroad park... we will have on site power from a generator with fuel contributions. you can bring a car into the campground but not in the whole park. If it's as muddy as it was last year, then you can leave the car by the office just fine... tents...
So it's like a heat lock on a starter but on a injector pump.... classic cars without a heat shield on the starter are prone to do this after about a half hour of driving also.....
Hmmmmm.... I might be able to grab one or pick one up at harbor freight.... what size you thinkin'...? I am going to be bringing 6 spare deuce dog bones... you 5 ton guys just need to be alittle careful....
Sure if Xtsix is up for it but they're not on rims, just tires... the tires are about 30lbs each. Not bad to lift but 28.... he's going to have to take intervals....
Hey rebelcummins... got some bad news for ya. bring your groin sling with you to haspin (PG-13 remember).... your going to need it to load all 28 tires in the back of your truck... were sleeping in the truck again this fall and at least I got our 3 oldest kids helping me load them... if you were...
You time the motor with a timing light... the finger on the plug hole is a old trick to get it close... you can only set the true timing with the timing light....
Dan, I drive a 26' tandem straight truck everyday for a living... it's like a modern day deuce but double the length and I've been broken down many times... even on a tow account, a 70 tow was $780... I was at haspin a month before the 2012 summer rally, just the wife and I enjoying a camping...
The bags won't stretch as much as a deuce suspension... yes, on flat ground, they will perform better but offroad articulation... won't happen as good as the stock suspension... plus, you want to take a chance on blowing out a air bag offroad... so be it, it's your truck, do as you wish.... ask...
You can use whatever brake fluid you want in any system.... PERIOD but make sure whatever you use, you don't mix dot 3/4 with dot 5... military uses dot 5 because it does not mix with water and cause the brake lines to rot out.... it's more of a insurance for equipment then anything... dot 3 and...
I would rebuild the entire distributor or if your not to caring about military correct... I would put in a HEI distributor for better throttle response and dependability...
Putting airbags on the truck will render it's capabilities useless.... personally, for a 40 year old truck, I think the stock suspension rides like a caddy...
