    my tale of woe !!!!

On my first deuce I drilled two holes, just like the setup on the toolbox door, but when I tried to insert the padlock I found out there was not enough space between to the fuel tank and the batt box door to use both holes. Since then, I only drill one hole and it seems to do the trick for...

    my tale of woe !!!!

Drilling a single hole to lock the battery box is one of the first mods I make to my deuces. I believe it will will discourage all but the most determined thief. It only takes 5 - 10 minutes to drill the hole and gives me some peace of mind.

    Rear Axle leak questions

My truck developed a leak and when I pulled the hub off, the cork seal looked fine. I believe my leak was caused by a in-op axle vent. It is really important to remove and clean the axle vents (trans and xfer case too) periodically. Since the leak incident, I have replaced all the vents with...

Deuce Buy - Govt Auction vs. Ebay - Tell Me Your Experience or Opinion - Pro and Con

IMHO - Its a gamble either way you go....If I were in your position I would try to buy one from GL and take a local SS member with M35 knowledge to go look at the truck(s) you are interested in bidding on. I bought my first deuce from a private party in 2005 and she is still running strong with...

    Oil rcommendations for multifual engines?

I use Delo 15W-40, but I would go with any quality diesel rated 15W-40. My first M35A2 had 15W-40 stenciled on the underside of the hood so you could not miss it when the hood was up.:-D
