Whatever truck you end up buying, make sure the serial number (VIN) on the title matches the S/N on the data plate and most importantly matches the S/N on the frame. That price sounds high to me.
I ordered glow plugs from Race-Mart back on January 6 and they said they would be delivered by January 27. I have never received them and I don't get any response when I ask for information. Since I was approaching the 60 days, I contested the charge with MC today.
Why not pick a separate assembly point near the fairgrounds? Meter out a few MVs at a time to assemble in a grocery parking lot, etc. and then all travel together the short distance to the fairgrounds.
I just discovered that Jim Butterworth resigned as State Senator for District 50 when he was made Adjutant General of the GA National Guard. Interesting that my e-mail didn't come back. I just e-mailed John Wilkinson at john.wilkinson@senate.ga.gov. I'll call him at 404-463-5257 in the...
I'm sending an e-mail to my State Senator Jim Butterworth and calling his office as well. Every SS member in Georgia needs to contact their Senator also. I also intend to get as many friends to contact their Senators as well. The more contacts the better the chance for success.
Ditto. I would try swapping the breakers. That would eliminate everything in the box except the breaker. I would guess it is a defective breaker. My 003 never trips a breaker, even when pulling a load close to stalling the engine. It will also start my 5 hp compressor without difficulty.
My engine is a Hercules, 1C according to the dataplate. It also has the TD cast on the block. I'm going to remove the oil cooler first and pressure test it. If it's bad I'll replace it. If the oil cooler checks out OK, I'll replace both head gaskets. Regardless of which head may be leaking...
Why not post up a list of the trucks participating with a running tally? That way everyone can see if they are counted, and a large list may provide enthusiasm for some that are hesitant. The more MVs the better this will be.
I would definitely be interested in supporting the Scouts. I think convoying from Zout's and back, would be great, or at least meeting up somewhere and convoying to the Scouts. The more in the convoy, the better.
I decided to take my M35A2 deuce for a drive today. I always check the coolant and oil before driving. When I pulled the radiator cap off, an emulsion of coolant and and oil blew out in my face. Before anyone asks the question, the engine was cold and the truck hadn't been driven for two...
A few of us convoy down to the GA Rally each year and other events as well. Most are from Hiawassee, Blairsville, Blue Ridge and Ellijay. You are close enough to join us if you want - it's a lot of fun.
In Georgia, temporary paper tags are free at your DMV office. Stop by and pick one up. You should also be able to get insurance on the truck before you pick it up by showing the agent the bill of sale from GL. Make sure you order an SR97 form.
A lot of guys are buying M35A3s in Georgia. These are all illegal to title in Georgia as Zout, Swiss and others have mentioned. This has nothing to do with the manufacturer. AM General is a listed manufacturer in the DMV database. It strictly has to do with the year of manufacture. I was...
Welcome to the site. Steel Soldiers has a lot of good guys and a lot of good information. I'm in Hiawassee, almost a neighbor. A lot of guys up here have MVs. Where are you picking the truck up from? Make sure you check out the brakes really good, the most important part of the truck.
Have we reached out to the Georgia MVPA? They have members that are not on SS, but I know some likely have new MVs that may fall into this trap. Perhaps they can send out an e-mail to their members for support.
