I would service the differentials before the trip out. I know of one SS that had a front axel snap 6 miles out. Other SS members have talked about this to me about mine, so it stays on my radar.

I'm 54 miles away , and picking up a trailer ( within 8 business days). I don't reccomend a trip like that in a 5ton 6X6 coming out of surplus. I see the truck , and Felix is good with his assessments. I'd low boy this rig home.
you shouldn't be worried , you bought a surplused military truck. Attack everything with optimism. You might not know the answers, but you'll find them , and the resources are here
