i bought these at walmart $90.00 a piece. they fit the trey. cant use the top hold down, was going to use wire ties. their 66o cca. the stock batties are 650 cca. have had no trouble. group size 34
breather pipe exits under valve cover check every 500 hrs. per tm. this applies to the 002 and 003. valve cover gaskets are fiber never seen rubber ones. try delks surplus thats were i got mine.
it might be easier to install the vr and see how it performes only takes a few min. trouble shooting the board will take more time and you will need test equip.. i have had a two with cold solder joints that had to be resoldered probally from the vibration.
check your valves adjust as per tm. 010 in. intake and .007 exh. they vibrate pretty bad when their out. running your hrts, to high or to low might put stress on the a/c regulator.
theirs a new solenoid on ebay under military generators for $60.00 or delks surplus. sounds like thats the trouble. you will still be able to use it until parts arrive.
i bought the same rig off gl a year ago paid $1000.00 for it condition uknown , so yes a bargin. finding the 116 gen. top is giong to be tuff but they do come up. do some load testing and see how it performs. mine will acept a 7.5 kw load really well.
if you dont need alot of amps you could use an dc/ac inverter. i use one and have made coffee and a few lights and tv. i use 4 6 volt golf cart deep cycle batteries with it. i have a 802 also sweet gen.
my 003 had several fuel lines and filter cans missing. got the fuel lines used fron delks for $15.00 a piece. on my 017 i changed all the fuel lines to rubber hose and changed the fittings to brass barbs made it alot easier. have you tried the manual feild flash switch inside left contol panel...
i use the killawatt and hardy digital meters for testing and setting up. i dont rely to much on the panel meters, but do like them to work. most of the analog meters are just not going to be very accurate.
delks charged me $45.00 a few mounths ago for a transducer for my 002. if i couldnt locate one i was going to use an old style reed type freq. meter. these are avaialable for $25-$30.00 check ebay. they fit the hole and require 120 volt ac.
oil preasure safty is a common failure. remove one of the leads and connect it to the other. be sure you show oil preasure on your gauge. high engine temp. located behind the discharge air louvers is another. put a meter on your batteries and see what you have that gauge could be defective. you...

this gauge reads the battery voltage not altenator output. i just put a new regulator on mine (overcharging) i have new walmart batts. and my gauge is in the same position as yours. i had 27.2 volts after 40 min. of run time. i think yours is fine.
