Working on my M1078 / Cat 3116 and need some input on installing the exhaust temp sender.
The fitting I have is a 1/4" NPT. But where is the best place to cut the hole ?
Can I use grease to hold the cuttings to the tap ?
Or do I need to pull the header ?

I have a BITCH ! Ordered some equipment from "Welding Supplies from IOC". Its a on line Co. I got a Gift Card and never saw a Expired Date on it.(My Bad.) Tried to use it and it would not go. Ok so I sent a Email and asked what could be done.I was told," nothing could be done."

The box attaches the same way the bed did.
The box is welded at each bulk head frame (16" on center) for about 3". Their about 48 welds +-.
Also their some backup bolts on a 36" spacing. Then all of this is bolted to the truck sub frame.
In our testing the overall flex is well with in the box...
