It does sit on rubber feet but they are pressed over a cast triangle piece that can't be removed. Like I said, it's not a Honda. :)
It's TAN now, just waiting to be put back together.
I'll keep looking for ways to lock it on. It has to come off when we use it in the pick up camper. Or I...
I've been looking for a place to carry my cheapie generator on camp trips. I already found places to mount four jerry cans, keeping them out of the bed. I would rather not have fuel in the back because sometimes we sleep in the back and it smells like fuel after a day of driving making for...
We put the LEDs on what's been dubbed - the world's heaviest tent aka M105. The right side was much dimmer than the left. Cleaned up the ground connection and double checked all the wire numbers.
Finally I unplugged the trailer and replugged it with a little more effort. Works great now.
Had to pull the upper alt to remove the wrong fitting. Using a short hose and a valve allowed me to safely drain the anti freeze into a couple jugs. We had to heat the 1/2 plug up to get it out, but it finally gave in. Reinstalled the alt and then the new elbow. On the test start we heard a...
I have to haul the troop trailer to a major scout competition that weekend. Soldier B is the Senior Patrol Leader for the troop and has to be there. Everyone else on Team TAN is connected to the troop somehow and has to be there.
So no, I can't make it. Sorry. If it would have worked out to...
The Chevelle is white - the factory color. It was a funky purple when I bought it for 200 dollars in 1986.
I prefer to call my son "Soldier B" or "the boy" on the internet and not show too many direct photos. Too many freaks out there. I'm sure if you searched hard enough you could find out...
Got my washer from eBay. Search under Universal Washer. It was 25 plus shipping. Mounted it on the firewall to the outside of the steering column under the hood.
The nozzles have to be adjusted with a sewing needle to all the way up and then mounted as far back on the cowl as possible.
We...
How much does your mechanic get for a head gasket swap?
I wouldn't mind if we had to do ours or even help someone else out - I really want Soldier B to get some experience in that area.
I have a 454 under the bench in the garage - I've thought about gathering up some parts and going through it...
Shovel wienies, flaming doughnuts..........
Dirtbag is starting to be more about the food and not about the MVs. Maybe it's time to get back to our roots.

What I have done before is wrap tape so it prevents the drill bit from going in too far and hitting the wires. Then I would drill through each side instead of going all the way through. It's still risky and I may not do it, but it is possible.
I notice that mine are mounted lower than the...
Both my fittings were the same size. Are you sure you connected to the correct spot up top?
I used nine feet of heater hose but I went to the top of the motor and through the firewall in the center since it was the closest to the heater connections. Went for a small ride so the truck only...
We tested everything in a good downpour today. Worked better than I expected. Speed is good and the sweep area is just enough. Better than air wipers IMHO.
