If you already have green fever, and that's ok you're in good company here, when you arrive - take a deep breath, find your zen place and focus.
Walk up to the truck and objectively look, tap and tug on stuff. Look at the wiring - are there many places where there are fresh black electrical...
I second that! Recently received a CUCV booklet - CUCV Glow Plug System Fault Isolation and Diagnosis from CUCV Electric. Also bought the Legacy GP controller. I strongly encourage getting this booklet, along with downloading the -10 and -20 manuals - it is one of the most important documents...
I'll second that inquiry - been checking the website and haven't seen any ordering details. You certainly have an idea here that will fight a niche market. A quick scan of this thread shows at least three interested buyers.
Question 1 - After the holiday buzz (food, beverage and family) are...
That rack looks great! On my 84 M1009, the radio antennae holes are quite a bit more to the rear than on yours. Front looks like the same.
Happy T-day, if you have the Military Channel - it's Tanksgiving!
Vet, great to hear your all set! This is a very good place to get directions and sources of issues with these MVs.
News on a similar situation...I pulled the fuse for the horn and found that my lights do indeed work. The hazards are out, and headlights but all else are working. Could be a...
Stuck horn button, I'll check that out too. Thanks! I'll pull the horn fuse to verify, pushing on the horn 'pad' doesn't seem to feel any different...Thanks again!
Well that makes two of us out there! This week I plan on hitting the tech manuals and wiring diagrams (many downloaded from here) to chase the wires down.
Though I am not answering your question with a easy answer I do suspect that a previous owner may have altered the service light wiring...
I have to agree with Hndrsonj - swapping out the tranny is not that big of a deal in comparison to the time and effort of completely eradicating rust. Consider that is why the seller was so ready to pop one in there for you to close the deal.
I am a proud '84 M1009 owner and was able to find...
Is it a safe bet that any Blazer from 73 to 91 has similar mounting holes for seats (front and back)? Seems like there are some issues with the windows in the doors and rear but the rear side windows 'look' like they are the same size from 73 to 91.
Always a score to find a donor K5 with a...
If there's water in there, regrettably it wasn't I that had that kind of fun! Oh well, soon enough I hope!
I think I will change over to the round filter style and replace the fuel lines, just for starters...
I just found this thread after searching "reliable 6.2" After having one of 'those' days of part confusion, anger, a little regret then pride and determination...and then reading some of these posts - especially Hardcorps79 - I am feeling the pride again. Hang in there, stay ahead of the...
How has this project turned out? I have the same issue, local mechanic believes the woodruff key is worn out, causing the crankshaft to be "off time" and that throws off the injection pump. That diagnosis is looking expensive!
That WAS a great find. Seems that the M1008s were much less 'abused' than the M1009s. Finding a straight one, nicely done! How was the interior? Any need to restore in there?
Thank you sir, yes how'd you guess, there are some spots to degrease and wipe down. In OR we have no choice at the pump - someone pumps your fuel for you. Always. They still dribble on your vehicle. Good ole social welfare jobs
Thanks for the tips, I'll start with 320 or 200 grit...
