oil index Here is a little more information for anyone interested. Took me a few evenings after work to find it again. Jim  Edit: I wanted to add the 1999 and 2008 versions of this Guide to the existing 2006 version. Some very useful info, I think.

    Lug nut question??

Lug Nuts Those nuts are available from most big truck parts dealers. I purchased two the other day for around $4.50 each but they were brand new. One front left and front right. The place I went to is a Kenworth dealer not that it make a difference. Just ask for Budd Wheel lug nuts left or...

    A little EUC help please

I HIGHLY recommend sending it all Priority US Mail - Certified. You get this little green card back stating the thy did receive it with a signature. There is no disputing this by G.L. and things will flow as required. Triple check your paperwork and then have someone else look at it too...

    Deuce oil.

Engine oil Isn't SAE30 straight weight non-detergent oil? I understand the posts on this thread but I would think that you still want a detergent oil. Silly minds like mine need to know... Anyone know what NAPA sells in 30 wt. for these engines? Jim

    Deuce oil.

Engine oil :-D Dito on the non-synthetic for now. Get to know your truck and put a few miles on it. Synthetic is really really good, really expensive, and could cause a leak if you have a marginally tight (non leaking) engine. Shell is very good and the Rotella-T is the current name of the...

    turbine oil

Turbine oil The oil is about $13.00 per quart average depending on brand and rating in the aviation industry if you buy a quart or two at a time. Wholesale in multicase quantities is about 9.50 or 10.00 each. Jim

School me... what tool to open rear diff?

axle filler / drain plugs I would rather think that they are 1/2 inch square drive. I had one like that too and I used a 1/2 drive extension and a 1/2 drive impact wrench set on low torque and pressure. The rat-tat-tat vibration was enough to keep it seated and break it loose. Jim

    m35 multifuel oil change

oil & levels Ditto: Bjorn, On the flip side, when the engine is really warm, the oil is at the "Full" line when correctly topped off. This is hot engine and hot oil, and you must check it within one minute of shutdown when hot. Shell "Rotella-T" or "Rotella" 15W40 is a really good oil for...

    EUC - Such randomness!

EUC He!! As soon as you can, do a live chat with them on Monday morning. Reference the e-mail and offer to forward it back to them while the person performing the live chat is watching. Make sure that you tell them up front that you have NO INTENTION of Forfeiting. Offer to send it in Certified...

    EUC - Such randomness!

I always recommend mailing it in certified US Mail. It is worth the extra 5 dollars or so and you have the magic green card that will hold up in any US Court stating that "yes they did receive it". Good luck, Jim

    axle nut socket

I posted bad information here about an hour ago and am now correcting it. The wheel bearing retaining nut is an 8 point 3 3/8 inch on the M105A1 trailer axle. I ran to NAPA and purchased an OTC-1924 socket. NAPA p/n is LEL L1924 for 35.48 plus tax. A little steep but when you got to have it...

Does anyone know what size socket is needed for the M105A1 wheel bearing retaining nuts? Could we be so lucky that it is the same socket for the Deuce (3 inches)? The TM give a part number but no size. Jim jimm1009@yahoo.com

    removing 6.2l injectors

Injector socket ;-) It is a special socket. I have a SnapOn brand that I can get the number from but Mac and S&K both have them too. I'm sure that NAPA also has them but I would not know the number. I can post the SanpOn number here in a few minutes but I have to walk out to the shop to get...

    deuce tools

Socket for lug nuts Houdel was selling the sockets here on S.S. for about $17 or so. I bought one from him a year ago and it works great. It is a flat black, no-name tool just like Uncle Sam would buy and correctly made for our trucks. Update: Tool Discounter has the axle nut socket for about...

Clips for Mounting Hardtop to Windshield

windshield bolts The bolts go from the bottom side of the top of the windshield frame up through to the top and the nuts actually go on top inside the channel of the top. The head of the bolt rests against the L clip. I can take a picture tommorrow if you need but it is an easy installation...
