Alright, I'm gonna take some of the fun out of it, Ron. Instead of concentrating on making it start, please spend a day (or however long it takes) to check and replace fluid as necessary. Then, if it starts, you could drive it without risking damaging things. Same for the loader and backhoe...

You should be able to get a parts car for $300, or less. And I think there's a lot of Brit car activity in your neck of the woods, so loose racks should be available, too. If that fails, I can check the condition of the ones on my parts cars. The only loose rack I know I have is for the Bugeye.

Welcome, Ron. If you don't mind sharing, which number was it at GP? Looking at the photos might help us spot potential trouble. Since all the common SEE issues has been covered, as you surely noticed when reading the older posts, you came to the right place.

Uh, huh. Suuure you did. And for your next act...? Joeblow, yes, the vent on mine is functional. I've used it to pressurize the tank. The only thing odd with it is that once, when pressurizing the tank by mouth, did it act like there was a check valve. Air could enter the tank, but it felt...

If you call that minute amount of crap "full", then the strainer on the parts SEE has been filled to 25 times its capacity almost every time I've checked it. Actually, what you show in the photos is about what's left in mine after I clean it out. Sheesh, flawless paint (possible even waxed) and...

Those aren't readily available here. But it's awfully tempting to put the built spare Buick 215 into it. Still, since nothing else on the car weighs anything, it's quite quick as it is.

According to my bank, that's the only way I can get credit, Ahab.

Oh, you had to ask, didn't you? The drive train is MGB, for better or worse. Better, because I have lots of MGB parts, and they're cheap. Worse, because it's heavy stuff for what it is. Although, since I tend to accumulate lots of parts for whatever vehicles I have, it's handy to have a common...

Oh, that's not a new idea, Ahab. He stole that one from me. But I have about a six month lead over General Hood on figuring out what the cause is. And if I spent more than two minutes per day (on average) on that issue, the problem would be solved much quicker. Which reminds me...need to order...

I sure hope that you're referring to your backhoe there, peakbagger.

Okay, assuming that this is about a SEE, yes, you have to use the control lever to raise and lower the backhoe. The lever by the hose reel, that is. And there are other things you need to do before lowering it, such as releasing the travel lock and opening the locks at the rear. To keep the...

Guess I'm just used to motorcycles, and that my Jeep hasn't had a windshield in decades (too expensive to fix after roll-overs). Between the weight and wind resistance, I'm generally anti-windshield. Still undecided on whether My MG TD will be run with the stocker folded down, a Brooklands...

If I ever get time to play around with that one, it'll be more open wheeled yet. Fenders and windshield will be gone, as they are not required here.

I'm a firm believer in "When in doubt, throttle out.", but would've never guessed that a SEE had enough beans to pull that off.

Does a Lotus Super Seven count? Even if it's a replica? If nothing else, it has many less moving parts than an Elise/Exige.

    CUCV quick lift question

Sorry, but I can't remember if they did or not. Ridiculously wide for all practical purposes either way. But 255/85R16s do rub at full lock on the M1008 - except that it's the tire chains that hit the steering. Oops, just noticed that you wrote scrub, not rub. The scrub is a function of wheel...

    CUCV quick lift question

Took me long enough to find a photo, but here are some fairly wide tires (36-inchers as I recall) on stock suspension. Stock steering and a Banks cross-over pipe, too. Not much visible fender trimming, is there? Also ran 33s on 9.75-inch wide wheels on a 2WD Crew Cab with very minimal...

    Np205 cross member?

You can cut it yourself, and weld it back together yourself. That part is easy. But you'll have to take it to a competent shop to have it balanced afterwards. Also, keep in mind that you can't just lop it off somewhere in the middle of the tubing - well, you could, but shouldn't. Instead, grind...

    Np205 cross member?

If by "tight fit" you mean that the drive shaft really is too long, no, that is not okay at all. Should the drive shaft ever bottom out, you'd quickly find the weak link in the transmission case/adapter/transfer case area.

According to post number 1700, they should be a 6TMF. It really shouldn't matter what brand they are (there are only so many manufacturers anyway) but a given model battery should be a certain size. Then again, tire sizes are nominal, and maybe batteries vary a bit, too? I can look at the...
