Yeah, that's the color when applied to a surface. In the can it looks darker. I'll have to look around for a radiator shop local to me. I don't feel right selling one of these units with a hack-job radiator in it. Certainly not for the price one of these goes for after it has been gone through.

It was the same kind I use for sweating copper pipe. Not sure if it says acid on it. The can is probably 40+ years old and most of the writing is faded. It's a dark brown almost black color flux.

One of the tubes in the core was punctured and leaking. I tried to flow some solder in it to fill the hole but it would not take the solder. I pinched the tube on both ends of the leak with a pair of duckbill pliers but I am not confident it will hold under pressure. Not to mention the other...

I'm having a hard time finding a replacement radiator for one of my 803A units - at least one that does not cost twice what I paid for the whole unit. Any recommendations out there?

One of my sets has a tag on the engine that says it was bored +040 over and rods are at -020 under. That engine was clearly rebuilt in 2011 according to the sticker. Oil and fuel filters are still painted green - never changed. Yet the hour meter reads 6000+ hours. I highly doubt those hours...

Does anyone know what the correct replacement hose is for the 803A fuel supply lines? Mine are hard as a rock. Looks like the fittings can be reused.

The 803 sets are easy to work on. The most annoying part I have found is that the panels are held on with numerous nuts and screws. Kind of a pain to open it up for repairs but I plan not to have to redo work once I finish with a set.

I didn't think of that. If the shop is grounded, can I connect a ground wire to the frame or breaker box or do I need to run a ground rod outside?

Has anyone tried using sheet metal screws on these generators? I was expecting to see them when I disassembled the top cover but to my surprise there were nuts and bolts holding it together.

All went well picking up the generators and making the trip home. Only two would fit on the trailer, so I have one in the pickup bed. Not sure how I am going to get that one out of there yet. Luckily I don't notice it in the back of the pickup minus the lack of cargo space. I started work on...

I got the generators with no issues. Unloaded two of them at the new house by hooking them up to a post in the workshop and pulling the trailer forward, sliding them down the ramp. The third one is still in the bed of my truck. Not sure how I will get that one out yet. I won't have time to check...

Thanks for the advice! I will call you if I run into trouble. Hopefully I don't have to reverse the truck with the trailer attached. I'm terrible at controlling a trailer in reverse! Once all is said and done, I will be sure to post some videos of them.

I'm renting a trailer this Thursday to pickup my generators. This being my first time at one of these facilities, should I expect helpful staff or just the opposite?
