I just purchased this M724.. I never had one before . Is the front axle supposed to be on top of the springs and not on the bottom.. It has a 6BT in it and i may need to ad a spring or 2. Only to make it leval.i cant stand when its lower in front..
I made an offer on these 2 trucks and landed them. Very nice people to deal with. The green one has a 318 poly v8 that has paper work on a engine rebuild with new brakes but I would assume the cylinders are dry from sitting. The red one has a new set of tires on it. The red one is a parts...
I don't think they steer well sitting there any way. if you mean steering while driving it than the advice of others will help u.good luck. post what u find out.
I hope i did well ..I just traded a 1954 dodge m37 for a 1984 923. Runs very well. I wished it had the 1400 x 20 tires on it... Can anyone shed some light on this style of truck. i like the 250 cummins. The trans snaps into gear nice.. The guy that owned it didn't seem to know anything about...
if he put it in a m37 can you give me his name maybe... i would like to know what he did for the yolk on the 5 speed to mate up to the drive shaft... or tell him to contact me...
i believe it civilian because it has a 5 speed married to it and its detroit green not military green.i will have to do an electric fan i guess. no fan hub on it.
i just picked up a nice runner in a m37 frame...i noticed it was being used with no cooling fan... the engine was put in there nicely... I'm wondering why no cooling fan... should i find one or put a electric one in front or behind the radiator...
this is in a m37 frame already with a 5 speed trans... .. i know it won't be a speed demon but i think it will be fun to stuff my sheet metal on it.. run a few wires and run it.. it will be different for sure.strait pipe up the side no muffler.. oh ya you will here me coming for sure :recovry4x4:
im in luck it has a 5 speed and i believe the gearing is 489... im all in on this baby... have to do some wheel cylinders and stupid crap but it will be a nice project... hopefully the deal happens...its already in a m37 frame.. someone did a nice job putting it in
i have a chance to get one that runs one and was wondering the pros and cons. its already in a m37 frame.. no sheet metal on it.. i have the sheet metal... go any faster... i personally love the bark they have..still would like to know who put it together originally
the original stuff is over 60 years old... i could sink 10,000 dollars in it doing it correctly and still have a 6000 truck.these trucks are nice pieces i have 2 of them but the 24 volt stuff is for the birds
It is running now... Mabey had a vapor lock or something... I will buy a solid state regulator from vintage power wagons... If that isnt it i will buy a new generator.... If that isnt it i will cut out all the 24 volt crap and run a 1 wire gm and swap every thing to 12... So its a little more...
i opened the cover to my regulator Today to try to figure out my charging issues.. The 2 ends ( look like points) would move if i tapped them lightly. The middle one never did anything. There was spark off and on the 2 end ones. I got this wet 2 weeks ago with a water hose in it hasn't charged...
