    700r4 for my M1028???

There is a little plastic bushing where the rod slides through the bracket, nothing else. I would image that he is referring to plastic clip on the end of the TV cable too.

    700r4 for my M1028???

Throttle Valve cable bracket. You can still easily get the TV cable, but the bracket is very hard to find. The 700r4 is not electronically controlled, not is it vacuum controlled. The TV cable affects line pressure and shift points. It is very important to set it up correctly because an improper...

    700r4 for my M1028???

It's a very straight forward swap. The only tricky thing is getting your hands on the TV cable bracket. You will need to wire up for the converter lock up. There are several ways to do it. A couple threads here have some of the ways it's been done as well as vast amounts on it via google.

    700r4 for my M1028???

If you do a lot of driving, the overdrive is awesome! If the ad is truthful and the transmission is ready to roll, it'll bolt right up. Torque converter and governor are already set up for diesel application.

    6.2 Diesel correct operating temp

Is this thread showing up simultaneously in the CUCV and the HotRodding forums?

    6.2 Diesel correct operating temp

As I said in the thread DogHead linked to above: According to TM 9-2815-237-34 page 1-4, normal operating temp is 190-230. 230 seems pretty high, but I think there is a reason the stock thermo is 190-195. If 180 was better for the engine it would seem that the engineers would have called for a...

Man, there's some jokes hiding in there!!

    Broken start bolt

I found that a piece of all-thread cut to length worked well as a temporary replacement for the longer bolt while I waited for the one I ordered to come in. Slid it through the body and tightened it, then added a nut. Left an inch or so of tab sticking out which went through the support bracket...

    700R4 and NP205?

I found my tall adapter under a k5 at the junkyard. I don't know what year it was. You can also find them on auction sites.

    700R4 and NP205?

'92 was the last year of the 700r4, after that it became the 4L60e, electronically controlled. You want an '87-'92 700r4 ideally. There were tall and short adapters for the 700r4/208, you want the tall adapter.

CUCV Washer motor won't turn off

I'm digging up an old thread to see if any of you resolved this. I figured I'd fill my reservoir so I could clean my windshield, turns out if I run my wipers it will keep cleaning and cleaning and .... It always wants to leave one last squirt after the wipers stop. It's like my kid trying to get...

    Trying to install fast idle.

Supply the fast idle solenoid with12v and it will engage. Are you trying to put a switch in the cab and leave the stock system in place, or are you just trying to bypass the stock system?

Having trouble with my CUCV transmission, any info appreciated!

I built the the 700r4 in my 1028. It's not that difficult, th400 should be the same or easier. You need a trans jack, a good pair of snap ring pliers and a full tear down manual. There are some specialized tools but they can all be improvised.

Having trouble with my CUCV transmission, any info appreciated!

Having trouble with my CUCV, any info appriciated! Have you tried putting the selector in 1st instead of 'D'? It is possible you'll get forward motion, you'll still need a transmission rebuilt though.

Threaded aluminum oil cooler lines..Available aftermarket? At all?

I don't remember if it was this site or not, but I was reading where guys were taking the ends to hydraulic shops and having hoses made to run from the engine to the radiator with no interruption.

Threaded aluminum oil cooler lines..Available aftermarket? At all?

I had to replace the lower one after it was damaged removing the radiator for radiator repair. I took the part number from the TM to the GM dealership and they were able to find one. Took a couple days to come in.
