I think you can buy surplus Austrian trucks that are the same design as the fmtv but with a manual transmission for about $15K-$30K.:-P

I saw 4 of the 406 engineer vehicles at the AZUSA NG armory here in California. They were in excellant condition, one was even NOS condition and smelled like a new car!! The date on the inside of the door was 1988. I will try and post some pics.:-P

I have those beads in my new tubeless tires and make a difference in the long run. I ran NATO tread tires(tubed) without the beads and wore uneven after putting milage on them.:|

Tne FMTV series of trucks is a German design. MAN truck is the designer, only Americanized for U.S. production by Stewart&Stevenson. England want to a MAN design also. They are excellant and most capable trucks. Everything new has had its teething problems at first. WR.
