I think Tulsa would be too far out of the way. My friend is the one taking the trip and he won't want to add that much mileage to the trip. Plus, he's leaving today to go to Houston and will be there for the next 3 weeks or so.
It was great meeting you too! I've already got my spare tank...
Most after market bead locks that people get for 4 wheeling only lock the bead on the outside of the rim. This is where the greatest risk is to roll the tire off the bead. The insert ones listed above lock both beads of the tire.
^^truth^^
A DL in the front can be manageable (at least in smaller trucks), but is certainly not the optimal set up. I would save money for an ARB for the front.
Re: RE: Re: RE: Body Filler
Thats why you MUST cover with a good layer of quality primer if there is ANY time before you plan to paint. Particularly in more humid areas.
Re: RE: Body Filler
x2.
I used bondo to fix my parent's porch where the wood had rotted out (at the joint of 2 boards). I scored board lines into it and painted over. I couldn't even find it after I was done!
Oh yea, and I use it on cars too. :D
I saw one similar to that (in a state that requires front plates) and he had the front plate on a spring loaded hinge that would pull the plate down over the roller fairlead. All you saw was the side rollers beside the plate.
Another good option is to run nylon rope instead of steel cable...
There is a small amount of mis-information above about detroits. If there is power going to the differential and you aren't turning, the differential is positively locked. It doesn't wait for a wheel to slip. Thats what a limited slip does. A Detroit locker and a limited slip are COMPLETELY...
Re: RE: Lockers
....or go in some mud and get the tires to spin (will they?) If you leave one set of tracks, it open. If you leave 2 sets of tracks, she's locked.
I know they make kits to allow you to run WVO in any diesel through a separate fuel tank, but is there a ratio thats acceptable to run WVO mixed with regular diesel? That would be pretty awesome because I have a very good supply of WVO.
TIA!
I just got my m1008 cucv and its plenty of truck for the money. I wouldn't get a m1009. Weak axles and really tall gearing make me not happy. I can't really tell you not to get a deuce because if my parents weren't so lame and I had the money I would have gotten one in high school. :)
Well one problem it will solve for me is the need to replace a generator. My gen 1 light has been coming on lately and I don't want to have to get a new one.
Thanks for the offer! I might have to take you up on that. I just put a new fuse in and everything is working again. Do you think switching to 12v will solve any of my problems? Seems like it makes the system much more simple.
