Re: RE: towing/pulling in reverse
^^Truth^^.
You usually wouldn't have as much reduction in R as you would in 1st though. Less reduction = less torque.
Just the head lights. I think I may have had the brakes and rt turn on at the moment that it went, too. I was about 10 minutes into the drive when it went. The electrical system on this truck is fairly suspect in general. I think I may replace it and see how it does in the day with less load...
I'd like to attend as well, as long as you guys don't mine having a lowly m1008 along for the ride. When you said there was a place east of C-ville, did you mean Crozet? The local 4x4 club I'm a member of goes there once a year or more and its supposed to be pretty awesome (I've never...
The TMs have proved themselves to me. I found a fuse diagram in one and fixed my lights. 2 of the fuses had been switched and there was a 20 amp fuse where a 30 amp should have been. Needless to say, the 20 amp was blown. Thanks for helping me help myself! :D
A local Kenworth dealer does something similar right off the interstate. They put lights on the wheels that blink in succession so it looks like the wheels are turning. They also put a light up santa in the driver's seat and a Christmas tree in the 5th wheel.
Don't do any "lift kit". They're a wast of money. A shackle flip on the rear and a drop shackle in the front is all you need and thats all you would probably get with a lift kit. The only difference is that Skyjacker will charge you $800 for that.
Sky manufacturing will have everything...
Non of the head lights, blinkers, marker lights, or tail lights are working. The switch is in the correct position. I've got a schematic for the fuses and I'm going to check them when I get a chance.
Where is the glow plug relay located? I'm not familiar with the truck yet. I got the truck from a local guy that used it to plow and tow. I'll probably be doing the same, but right now I'm using it to take up space in my driveway. None of the service lights are working and I can't figure out...
It was pretty cold when I started it last. I want to say around 40 or so. Its a m1008. I don't recall hearing any noise at all. To start, I just turn to the on position and wait about 10 seconds. It starts right up with no problems (assuming the batteries are charged enough).
Don't mean to hijack, but I have a related question. What does it mean if my wait light never turns off? The truck starts fine after I charge the batteries (they're dead from some power drain that I havn't found). Any ideas?
