    towing/pulling in reverse

Re: RE: towing/pulling in reverse ^^Truth^^. You usually wouldn't have as much reduction in R as you would in 1st though. Less reduction = less torque.

All the lights are out (1985 m1008) FIXED sorta...

Just the head lights. I think I may have had the brakes and rt turn on at the moment that it went, too. I was about 10 minutes into the drive when it went. The electrical system on this truck is fairly suspect in general. I think I may replace it and see how it does in the day with less load...

    Interested in offroading in Virginia?

I'd like to attend as well, as long as you guys don't mine having a lowly m1008 along for the ride. When you said there was a place east of C-ville, did you mean Crozet? The local 4x4 club I'm a member of goes there once a year or more and its supposed to be pretty awesome (I've never...

All the lights are out (1985 m1008) FIXED sorta...

The TMs have proved themselves to me. I found a fuse diagram in one and fixed my lights. 2 of the fuses had been switched and there was a 20 amp fuse where a 30 amp should have been. Needless to say, the 20 amp was blown. Thanks for helping me help myself! :D

    question about m-1008

The best way to see if everything is working right is to drive the truck.

    Christmas lights on the deuce

A local Kenworth dealer does something similar right off the interstate. They put lights on the wheels that blink in succession so it looks like the wheels are turning. They also put a light up santa in the driver's seat and a Christmas tree in the 5th wheel.

Whats the best 3/4 ton 4" lift on the market

Ok...Thats true. I'm used to a coil sprung front end and forgot about the negative arch.

Whats the best 3/4 ton 4" lift on the market

Don't do any "lift kit". They're a wast of money. A shackle flip on the rear and a drop shackle in the front is all you need and thats all you would probably get with a lift kit. The only difference is that Skyjacker will charge you $800 for that. Sky manufacturing will have everything...

still questionable existing glow plug controller prob.

So if I do the manual glow plug thing, I don't have to worry about replacing the controller card? I'd really prefer to not drop $250 on that.

still questionable existing glow plug controller prob.

Non of the head lights, blinkers, marker lights, or tail lights are working. The switch is in the correct position. I've got a schematic for the fuses and I'm going to check them when I get a chance.

still questionable existing glow plug controller prob.

Where is the glow plug relay located? I'm not familiar with the truck yet. I got the truck from a local guy that used it to plow and tow. I'll probably be doing the same, but right now I'm using it to take up space in my driveway. None of the service lights are working and I can't figure out...

still questionable existing glow plug controller prob.

It was pretty cold when I started it last. I want to say around 40 or so. Its a m1008. I don't recall hearing any noise at all. To start, I just turn to the on position and wait about 10 seconds. It starts right up with no problems (assuming the batteries are charged enough).

still questionable existing glow plug controller prob.

It does stay on when the truck starts. I think it goes out eventually, but I can't remember. I've only driven the truck 2x so far.

still questionable existing glow plug controller prob.

Don't mean to hijack, but I have a related question. What does it mean if my wait light never turns off? The truck starts fine after I charge the batteries (they're dead from some power drain that I havn't found). Any ideas?

What is this worth? Or should I say - Is it worth anything?
