    939a0 designation debate

Clinto; What would an M923 be called if it had 11.00's on it? Even if it had the A1 designation. Not that I know for sure ,but I've seen trucks for sale under the A1 designation for sale with the duals. I understand and agree with your heads analogy, but for an entire vehicle with multiple...

    939a0 designation debate

So would it be better for me to call my truck EIC BRY? Scar59; What is a CFR? I'm still new to this and every bit of info I get, puts me one step closer to knocking the newb off! LOL Thanks for the info!

    939a0 designation debate

I actually have one of these trucks, That I consider an A0, Simply because I didn't know that there was a difference between an M923 and an M923A1. Until the owner of this thread described it to me ( greatly appreciative ) and a lot of things became much clearer. I will continue to use the A0...

Yet More coolant issues! 84' M923

I think this is what I'm going to check next. I have flushed the cooling system earlier this year and did get a bunch of rusty water and sludge.I flushed until clean ,but it still could be plugged. This is what came out of the radiator after the coolant was gone.

Yet More coolant issues! 84' M923

Yes I did read the TM on how to adjust the tension on the water pump drive belt,I did notice that in the TM it said to use a brass whatever bar and that is something I don't have. I'm sure that a 2' long prybar is going to be good enough for turning that tensioner. But it is frozen or stuck. It...

Yet More coolant issues! 84' M923

I opened up the stat and removed it. I then retested it to make sure it opened and it did. I then brought the housing in and retested the stat and fitted into the housing to make sure it closed and it did. I then reinstalled it into the motor and restarted the motor and the temp went above the...

Yet More coolant issues! 84' M923

Alright, I ran some tests just now. I started the truck and 50 minutes later it reached a temp of 200. I let it go another 10 minutes for 1 full hour at idle and the temp was about 215. I then supplied air to the fan clutch and no drop in temp. I then purged some more air ,not really any came...

Yet More coolant issues! 84' M923

When I was heading into town, I did pull into an Oreillys and pull the line from the fan clutch and no obstructions, That's when I bolted the fan. When I finally got home after my first post. I went out and tried to tighten the fan belt,The sprocket was so tight that it actually started to bend...

Yet More coolant issues! 84' M923

Thank you gents for the replies. CSM Davis; I'm not exactly sure! I did replace the sending unit twice and it seems to be reading accurately. The main thing is massive amounts of air bleeding out of the actuator valve.Which leads me to the actuator valve receiving the excessive high temp, but...

Yet More coolant issues! 84' M923

This coolant system is really starting to get on my last nerve. So far I have replaced the thermostat( tested before install and worked fine), coolant, filter, heater blower motor, rebuilt the actuator, flushed it, block heater twice, temp sensor twice and replaced upper rad hose twice. So I...

    R.I.P.--ELKHUNTER--Walt Johnson

I did not know this man, But with a name like ELKHUNTER, Sounds like I could've learned a lot from him. I do hope that his family rejoices for the life he lived and the love that he obviously shared for them and those SS members that knew him. Now he doesn't have to worry about fuel prices or...

Silly me...I thought I would remove the lug nuts with a breaker bar and cheater pipe.

I feel your pain, When I replaced my 11.00' for the 14.00's I had a serious problem breaking the lug nuts. I had a 3/4" impact wrench and that did nothing. I was very fortunate to borrow a mechanics 3'4" drive by 3' long breaker bar and when I was done, I really had to go get a colonoscopy to...

I have to move my bed, any suggestions!

I probably could just give a few hard love taps to it, but I'm pretty specific( couldn't spell the word I wanted to use:D) about things and don't care to take that route.

Delivery & pick up loads out of Columbus ,Oh

Since money is a bit tight and fuel is a bit cheaper. I thought I would offer my pick up out to members that are in a 4 hour radius of Columbus,oh. That have won a GV auction or have bought parts from another member, but would like a better alternative to the standard shipping. I will of course...

    Groveport OH Pickup??

What would you need picked up? How much does it weigh? Can you make a 1 mile detour from Interstate 70 to pick up? I was just thinking about posting pick up needs out of Lockborne.I will charge for the service, but it would be a trade for parts!

I have to move my bed, any suggestions!

Andy; That's basically the same thing I've done so far. What is the distance between the cab and the angle support bar? Doesn't look like very much. How much cab flex can be expected when off roading? The sheet metal on the back of the cab is some pretty thin stuff. I would imagine that the cab...

I have to move my bed, any suggestions!

I was hoping to not replace the wood since I really don't have the means to remove the bed. I was hoping to have a neighbor with a backhoe just pull it. But since I have everything loose I should replace the slats. I was thinking about rock maple. Oak is good, but I think the maple has a higher...

I have to move my bed, any suggestions!

Well I have to move my bed back 2-3" for the spare tire to fit properly without rubbing the bed lip. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to do this, but once again I assumed ( assumption, The mother of all ____ ups) and was proven wrong! I know that there is four L shaped brackets and two spring...
