We had a great time, meet a lot of fun people and it was
nice to put faces with names. Four wheeling Dave, John,

Close but with less lubericating property’s (oil)
that you don’t see oil residue on jet aircraft.
A little
soot maybe. If you do see a oily residue on your
next flight, take a later flight.
Hotter thermostat, 10% jet fuel, 10% unleaded and advance your injection timeing
about 2 degrees from spec. And after the test throw a quart of 10 weight oil
in there and next fuel stop filler up.
We have done that to big cummins, Detroit’s and cats. The power goes up
and emissions go down...
If you got anything over a few drops of water in
there I would try to take a look at the con rods.
( bore scope or a good visual look with the pan off)
because that would be the only thing that could
give. But you might be lucky and just change the
head gasket.
Take it down to the local airport and
find out who does avionics installations
and offer them a case of beer and see
if you get any takers. It’s a very
common aviation part.
We have several torque wrenches, “3/4,1/2,
even some “1/4. They measure torque each
way. ? Have to use them a lot of time for
running torque on locking nuts.
When you take apart the head you will see
how a “click” type wrench works.
The “tornado”? Mod is cutting out a piece
metal before the filter to help it flow more
air. I think if you look up Utube you can do
a search of it. Did it to ours and agree with
the theory.
We put a TAS 56 new steering box out of
a snow plow. Got it from “vanderhags” a
truck parts supply place in the Midwest.
bolted a cat hydraulic pump up to the
air compressor, found a pitman arm from
a truck junkyard and we would not change
