It looks as though I am not going to be able to pick up the trailer I won on GL at a Fort Campbell, KY/TN auction because my deuce will not be tagged properly by the time the EUC is cleared and it is the only way I have to get it.
I will sell it for what I have in it, $264 + $36 for me. Total...
RE: Re: How to use 12VDC headlights on your 24VDC system .
No, the second bulb won't burn out because once the first bulb burns out, there is no path to ground for the second. On the plus side, if one high beam goes, just tap the dimmer switch and you are now on low beams, or vice versa. The...
Being an electrical engineer, I thought there must be an easy way to use cheap 12vdc headlights on a 24vdc system and then it hit me: just wire the headlights in series and use a cheap relay to switch them.
The first drawing is a standard 24vdc high-low headlight wiring.
The second is...
They are telling the truth. They DON'T know the condition of the trucks. When they get ready to list them on the site, they send a guy out who tries to start them, if they don't start, they do NOTHING ELSE. Most buyers get a truck that has at least a small degree of reliability. Others get a...
I like the Porter Paint because it is low sheen, low odor, durable, goes on easy, and cleans up with soap and water. Cost is about $29/gal. One gallon will cover a truck but I am going over many parts with two coats so about 1 1/2 gal to 2 gallons per truck.
She helped for about 2 hours and painted pretty well, too. She did manage to get more on the truck than herself. Since the paint is water cleanup, it came off her hands easily.
The paint is Porter Paints water based satin acrylic enamel that is suitable for direct to metal application. The...
It was such a nice day here in middle Tennessee that I just had to do some painting on my deuce. The bed drain holes were plugged and there be had about an inch of water sitting in it continuously for months at a time.
My helper is my 6 year old daughter.
Re: RE: almost finished working on deuce
Target shooters are guilty of leaving shot up junk laying around, too. There is one place that lots of people shoot and I always take some of the junk people leave behind to the dump after I shoot.
Vacuum operated wipers disappeared off passenger cars in the late forties or early fifties. Why they kept them on military vehicles into the 70's is beyond stupid.
Weak hose. Replace at your convenience as it probably isn't going to blow tomorrow, but you can never tell. Also your truck isn't running hot enough to get best efficiency. Install a higher temp thermostat or block part of the radiator with some cardboard.
Just get a gladhand, a piece of air hose with 1/2" npt fittings, a 1/2" female to 1/4" npt female adapter, and a 1/4" female quick connect and carry 25' of 1/4" air hose.
Check all the connections to make sure you don't have a corroded or loose terminal. The solenoid takes very little current while the starter takes massive amounts.
