There should be a regional officelisted that's responsible for the sale you bought it from. They should be able to handle any problem immediately. I had to call Atlanta one time when they messed up the VIN on a vehicle I bought in Springfield, IL. I got a new SF-97 in the mail a couple of...
I don't have my book handy, but there several #s for the Vickers used. I did see one listed on Epay last night while surfing, it said it was off a 5 ton. Don't have any idea where in the world it was though.
I have that problem on my M51a2 w/w, I rebuilt the duplex valve first, then replaced it with a new one, didn't solve the problem. I talked to Memphis about it the they thought it was the air cylinder on the sprage leaking. I got a rebuild kit for it, but haven't had the time to tear it down...
My M51a2 w/w turns easily moving or stopped, my m54a2 didn't and it was the pump. After replacing it it steers like the dump. I think you will find the pump is gone.
I've never noticed any difference in the steering wether the sprag was engaged or not.
I got a kit from Memphis to rebuild mine a couple of years ago, fixed it right upl. right now I have air leakage through the exhaust port on the valve all the time, I understand the cause is the "piston" in the xfer case needs rebuilding. I have a kit for that but haven't had time to install...
It's no big deal if you pull the pin all the way out and move the carrier out of alignment, just rotate the pinion gear until the spiders line up with the hole in the carrier. If you're careful pulling the axles nothing should move.
Pull the pin until it clears the end of the axle(I usually just pull it all the way out), then push the axle in(toward the differential) and the clilp will clear.[thumbzup]
So true, when they started to jump them the rockwells couldn't stand up to the strain and they began to use axles with planetary gears out of what I have no idea.
confused?
Ok I give up, I can't figure out which manual covers adjusting the brakes. Is it some kind of secret or initiation rite? I'm getting cross eyed trying to read the subject for each manual, whose idea was to use white on green? Or can someone tell me how to make the font larger?:?
I'd sure like to see some pictures, I haven't done anything with mine yet since I rarely drive in the rain. When I do I just put the glass up as high as I can get it.
I can't speak to the legality elsewhere, but here in Missouri they have what they call a Fuel Blenders Permit. It costs $75 a year and allows you to use any combination of recycle fuels on the road legally. I rarely drive on the roads so I don't have a problem of getting caught.
Before I got my M51A2 I was searching for an M51 with the gas engine because I'd never worked on diesel engines before. I'm glad now I got the multifuel cause I love the sound. I work mine hauling logs and odd jobs around the place.[thumbzup]
