Depends on who you listen to. The 3116 "Take-Out Engine" sayings may have some truth behind them if the paint color differences are what people are saying they are.
Pretty gutsy/crazy (take your pick) going out in flood water that deep. Current in there could catch you and they would find you bent around a bridge pillar somewhere. Nice truck though.
I just got 2 Exide 200 AGM batteries rated at 925 CCA (tested at over 1000 CCA) to put in my Deuce. Best part is they fit in the battery box, just have to put a piece of wood between them to keep them from moving around.
One other thing I've noticed with my truck is that sometimes my buzzer will not shut off until the cab has heated up a little bit. I have full pressure so thats not the cause, just something being cold up there. Once its warmed up in the cab no issues, usually takes about 5 minutes after start...
If your intank pump isn't working then its possible you're filters are empty as well. Check them first, if empty fill them with (preferrably diesel) fuel.
From what I've seen on 6TL batteries is they are not a good battery as a whole. Some batteries last while others go dead pretty quickly, even in the same vehicle. I think its a crapshoot if you get a good one or a bad one. I personally will not put 6TL's in my deuce.
Stay off the cell phone
Don't play with heater controls
Tell passengers to shut up and let you concentrate on the job at hand
Keep you head on a swivel paying attention to other idiots around you who drive outside the ability/road conditions
Since you have a 24V charger pull the negative battery cable off (the one that goes to vehicle frame) and hook ground cable from charger to that one. The positive cable from the charger will go to the positive post of the other battery making it charge both batteries at once. Leave the cable...
I seem to remember a day several years ago where it was warmer in Anchorage than in Miami. Be careful what you ask for....you may get some of this camoflage.
I've went through similiar snow depth this year while pulling my M105A2 trailer with my stock Deuce. Never did have the issues with it that you did just trying to get going. Don't know if the snow was packed differently or what.
Too loud for my dogs as well. My 85 lb Blue Heeler tries to sit on my lap when I'm driving it around so its no more rides for him. Maybe a parade but he'll get to the parade in a different vehicle.
Working on anything dealing with the powertrain in a tank sucks.....plain and simple. Easiest thing to do is pull it and work on it where you can get to it.
Don't know in all honesty....like I said someone else posted that and I'm just repeating what was said. Mine is a 0 - 30 gauge in the vacuum side. I have noticed that when going down hill and I let off the pedal to prevent over-reving it the gauge goes clear back to 0 boost and maybe just into...
When I posted a picture of my gauge with both on it someone commented that it might show a plugged air cleaner if all of a sudden the gauge started showing a vacuum. Don't know if it would happen or not but sounds feesible.
I used an epoxy like wikallen suggested (not the same stuff, some stuff from NAPA), let it dry, sanded it down smooth and then painted the steering wheel. I would use some of the 5 minute set up stuff if you're just using it to fill the cracks.
