The tranny swap bumps the value for me because I want OD although I probably would have went the NV4500 route. Guys gotta remember I live in the northeast so the closest place to get one of GL is probably MAryland. So I'd be bidding blind on one, have title issues with the commie state of Ct and...
Well found an m1009 close to me for sale. Original paint. Not too bad rustwise. It will need rockers some front floor work and eventually the support beam the tailgate bolts to. The truck is clean mechanically as far as i could tell and was converted to a th700.
He had a donor truck and rebuilt...
Spoke with my auto elec re builder. He said it will cause premature failure but he can get me a 24v motor for the E60 plow so for anyone running a plow setup on a CUCV stay tuned. I will post how it works out.
Yes run the 12v motor on 24v. I was not sure. I was told by a rebuilder that the starter
Motors in the m1008 a 28mt is the same 12v to 24v and only the soleniod was different so i though if that were true why wouldnt it work on the plow pump motor. Thing is soooo sloooow
Had a thought. On my M1008 the plow pump is a Meyers E60. It is slow as heck and the pump only has one battery as a buffer. Is there any reason I could not wire just the pump motor to the 24v side of the batts ? I was told a DC motor doesnt matter but I am not sure of that. What do you guys think ?
A word of caution. I take a nut and put it on top of the wing and jam it against the wing nut. I had a 6.2 where the air cleaner stud broke loose at the base and wobbled around , worked loose from the nut and got sucked into the engine. it was not a good day and cost me a prefectly good engine...
Since the tank is higher than the ff I put a small amount of air Pressure in the tank and loosened the banjo nut on the ip and forced the fuel into the filter. It worked perfectly.
YOU ARE THE MAN !!!:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:
It was actually plastic but probably a replacement from original but it was clogged solid. BTW for informational purposes the Lift Pump puts out up to 30 psi and from what I was told the Bosch inline IP used on this motor has no internal transfer...
It does have that cover. I am going to remove it as well as the spin on. Long Island Deutz said 10 psi but I think that is excessive. He sounded unsure. He said the Lift pump should have a primer handle but I could not find one.
It would not surprise me if the factory LP was 500$. Anything for this engine is insane. One cyl head was 1200$. Good strong engine but when it breaks, it breaks expensive.
I shot an email to Long Island Deutz. They are the closest dealer. I will check for the screen as well. I may need to get a metric adapter for my hand priming pump as the fuel filter for whatever dumb reason is mounted upside down so there is no way to pre fill it.
Does anyone have any experience with deutz diesels ? I have a 3 cyl air cooler one in my New Holland and it's losing power under load. I found the fuel supply line leaking at the LiftPump but that did not solve the problem so I would like to test the output pressure on the LP (it is mech) but...
I can tell you stay away from Milspray Carc sub. The stuff is peeling off my truck in sheets. I will have to strip and repaint the entire truck come spring. Stuff is garbage.
4wd is meant for low speed operation so, it won't damage anything but if you drive it past 35-40 mph you are certainly not doing the front DS any favors.
The Snap On MT480 is specifically designed for 6.2 diesels. It works fine.
Doghead, Thank's for the clarification on the tach n time. That was the one tool I was not sure of. I had wanted to get one but I came across an MT480 cheap with all the adaptors.
Snap On MT480 is the tool. Kent Moore also makes one but good luck finding either. I have owned many many 6.2s and yet to see one with the IP kicked to the pass side and run good. Most are either lined up or as the timing chain wears bumped to the drivers side.
