You didn't check the V.I.N. when picking up to make sure you got the trailer that matched your paperwork ?
That would have been the time to bring the issue up with GL.
Edit ; Contact the manufacturer and find out if there are frame numbers , they should also be able to provide you all the specs...
Did it come with tecnical manuals , If not they can be downloaded free here TM's for Generators . You should read them before starting . Improper operation will cause some very costly repairs.
Not knowing where in Ohio it is, it seems cheap . From Dayton Ohio to Albuquerque New Mexico is 1500 miles , that would figures out about $1.66 a mile. That is about half of what alot of carriers are charging.
1/8 inch seems pretty thin , but what the chain auto parts stores are doing is selling different priced shoes , the cheaper the price the less friction material they use . The drums should have been turned with new shoes . Sounds like you need a different mechanic. OEM shoes would have been...
