    Cucv 4 rent

Rent a Jeep and be sure to at least swing by Southern Utah while you're out here. Moab, Arches, Bryce, Zions, Canyonlands, etc can all be seen (though not real thoroughly) in just a couple of days.

WOO HOO! Original Genset filters available that fit

I've got a new (to me) MEP 3 and I'd like to pick up some new filters to change out before I fire it up for the first time. I've been poking around the TM, but just to make sure I'm reading it right... there are 2 fuel filters and 1 strainer, correct? Looking at the setup there are 3 identical...

Looking for suggestions on what to do with this nifty little gas-turbine genset...

How about a sand rail? I saw a couple dozen of these turbine engines go up for auction from Hill Field here in UT. I wasn't thinking outside the box when they were up and only looked at them as a useless (to me) 400hz generator. I think they all went fairly cheap too :(

    Hello....

    So true

    Mep 007

Perfect! All links worked great... manuals are printing now. Thanks a lot for the help! We don't have coffee or beer here, but if you ever travel through Utah I'd be glad to buy you a hot chocolate or kool-aid

    Mep 007

Quick research suggests that there are only 2 manuals for that genset: TM 9-6115-646-14 TM 9-6115-646-14P Oshkosh... do you happen to have an electronic version of those TMs you wouldn't mind sharing?

    Mep 007

Sorry to bump an old thread, but didn't feel like this question warranted it's own thread. I looked for the TM mentioned above, but it's not listed on the SS resource page. I'm looking for all TMs related to the MEP007A/B since I just bought 4 of them  I will check the forum listed in...

M1031 dead: where do I start?

9 times out of 10 that solved my electrical problems on my M1008

M 1031 Farm Contact Service Truck

Thanks! I'm still new to the MV thing, but I really need to learn my way around those TMs. I'll poke around for a replacement and post up what I find. Sorry for the semi-hijack, Doug :D

M 1031 Farm Contact Service Truck

My 1031 has been rewired to single phase, but the compressor motor wasn't swapped out when it was done. I've been wanting to tackle that project lately, but haven't had a chance to find a motor. Where do you think the best place to pick one up would be? Kaman? McMaster-Carr? Any help would be...

    Towing questions before moving

I had my brother drive my M1031 from San Diego up here to Utah... ~700 miles. The 1031 was the tow rig for another member of the forum, but the tags had expired shortly before I bought it. I paid $4 at the DMV for a 1 week permit to use while transporting it up here. I wonder if you could get a...

    M1009 Recovery success

Glad your return trip was uneventful. Looks like a nice Blazer! The guy you ran into on your way out was probably a diabetic with low blood sugar. They'll often act drunk without a drop in their system. Hopefully he got medical attention quick... if they continue to drop they can go comatose.

    M1009 recovery with disastorous result

Close call! I'm really glad the two of you made it out relatively unharmed. I know when I bought my truck it was automatically covered by insurance for ~30 days or something. I wonder if they would take into account EUC time in that. I sure hope not and it would only make sense that they would...

    cant start my m1031

My 1008 did that to me years ago. No symptoms leading up to it... just jumped in one day after work and for the life of me could not get the key to turn. Luckily work was less than a mile from home and it was a Friday. Picked up a new ignition switch from Napa that evening and installed it the...

    New guy, first CUCV

Exterior is a little rough, but it's all surface. OTOH, the interior is sweeeeet

    CUCV - air conditioner transplant?

Are you sure you're past the point of being able to do a chargeback? Seems like all of my cards allow at least 60 days if not 90. Anyway, something to look into. Sorry it didn't work out for ya :???: I was considering that kit myself.

Is it legal to acquire slave cables and surplus tires?

I'm waiting for the movie. Back on topic... I appreciate the thread. When I sold my M1008 ~4 years ago, I gave up my slave cables at the same time thinking they'd be no use to me. Ever since I got back into the MV scene with my M1031 I've been wondering how I can get a hold of a slave again...

    Questions on M796 Bolster Trailer

Thanks for the reply.... kinda what I was thinking. Would've been nice to get something surplus to match the truck, plus that bolster just looks beefy!

    Questions on M796 Bolster Trailer

I've been looking for a trailer to toss my Jeep on and tow behind my M1031. There's a bolster trailer for auction local on GL, but I'm not convinced that'd be the best solution. A decent tandem axle retail trailer around here is gonna be $1,500 - $2,000. Getting this bolster on the cheap sounds...

    Oil Sample Just Mailed Out

It will be interesting to see what shows up at your next interval for comparison. I've had the last 4 changes from my Jeep analyzed at ~5,000 mile intervals. Results have me all warm and fuzzy using Wal-Mart's el cheapo synthetic for extended periods.
