    M1009 lift job

I don't want to completely highjack this thread but this is a very interesting vehicle you've got here Terryh. By body lift did you mean finder triming or literally a set of 5" spacers between the body and the frame? I normally don't really care much for finder triming but in your case those...

    Batteries Dying in my CUCV

If your GEN 1 light stays on it means that your drivers side alternator is not charging or something in the 12v part of your system is a little bit shorty.

    convert to dual electric fans?

Are you looking into putting a body lift on your truck and useing electric fans to overcome the cooling issues that the manufactures say you will have if you use a body lift on a truck with a 6.2L diesel?

    M1009 lift job

Looks good!!! I was wondering about the rough country springs. I've heard that they give a pretty firm ride. Are you able to take turns without alot of body roll useing that kit?

M1009 bumpers pita to remove...6 hours...

When I took my bumper off I had to cut a couple of the carriage bolts off with an air cutoff tool. I hated having to do something like that because it cut into the bumper a little bit as well. If I had to do something like that again I think I would just grind down the head of the carriage bolts...

    idiling

I idle mine for a good 30-45 minutes before I even get in it to go anywhere in this weather. It doesn't hurt at all to start the truck up and go back inside and take a shower or eat breakfast. I always figured that was what those chain and pad lock anti theft devices in these things were for all...

Is there supposed to be another piece to the air cleaner?

I suspect that they didn't use the plastic intake tubing and resonator on the cucv's because of the dual batteries. There simply isn't enough room to use that stuff with the huge mil. spec batteries in the way.

    M1028 Axles on Dodge M880

He shouldn't need a part time conversion kit for the np203. Useing manually locking hubs is a part time conversion. I ran my np203 for years with the t-case in high lock and the front hubs unlocked. It stood up to many big smoky burnouts that way with no problem. Wish I would have kept the np203...

    M1028 Axles on Dodge M880

I used to have a 77 chevy blazer that had a NP203 t-case in it. The guy that had it before me tore the front axle out from under the truck on a boulder or stump or something and replaced it with a dana44 out of another truck that had locking hubs. It worked the way it was supposed to with the...

    16.5 9.75 steel wheels

My father had a set of 16.5" white wagons a long time ago. I noticed those things weighed alot more than 15" or 16" steel wheels. As far as welding on beadlock rings that will probly make it run like a POS at high speeds on the road.

Can I put my transfer case in 4L without...

It's ok to do that to climb a hill. The added torque will snap a Ujoint if you are too hard on it though. Don't try to do things like put it in low to try to pull a stump and it will be fine.

    Interior light

I always wondered why my truck didn't have a dome light. I do have one working light under the dash on the passenger side. I wound up installing some kind of clear trailer light that I found at the hardware store in the trailer accessories section. Now thats what I call a dome light!!! That...

    Antifreeze INSIDE of truck!

Is the one that you removed thicker and made out of brass?

    Antifreeze INSIDE of truck!

Get the heater core that is in the truck rebuilt. If you use the replacement one that the auto parts stores give you for a CK 30 it will not work very well. Believe me I have one in my truck right now and it doesn't work anywhere near as good as the mil-spec one. And also it is a very easy part...

    Banks sidewinder turbo system m1028

LOL I'd say the only real con would be the price of that kit.

    Can you spin tire?

When I turned mine up I only turned it up a shy 1/8th of a turn and I don't have a pyrometer. I had my father drive it up the street in front of my house and stomp it to the floor a few times to see if any black smoke came out of the pipes. Hardly any at all comes out when you punch it so I...

    Th400 auto trans

I tried that last year. The zerostart coolant heater will not work on a cucv. It's complicated to explain why so I will refer you to my thread about trying to use one. type cucv zerostart coolant heater...help into the search function on this site and it will take you to my thread...

    Th400 auto trans

First time I ever heard of anyone thinking their cucv pickup was geared to high lol. Is this post for real? Anyhow... guess i'll bite. What is it's top speed? If it goes like 70 or 80mph someone has swapped axles in it or something.

    6.2L detroit into...

Didn't notice you were from Florida where tractor tired mega trucks are king. Anyhow if you use a 700r4 or some other full sized truck trans along with that motor your driveshafts will be like 10" or 12" long at best with horrible angles. But since you are thinking about having custom axles made...

    6.2L detroit into...

Im guessing here but since the 6.2 diesel weighs a bit more than a small block gas motor It will likely bottom out your front springs just sitting still. Also I don't know alot about those things but for some reason I always thought they were uni-bodies and didn't have solid axles either. Of...
