Well....I would say sort of. Think of it this way Cold start is putting alot of drain on the batts, plus glows, plus the rubber on the belt is ice cold so ...yeah I could see a problem more "apparent" in cold weather.

The problem is you can no longer get 7/16 thick belts and that is what these were designed for.

Well my 6.2 has the usual drain back issues common to the factory mechanical LP. You can replace it with another one or installed a check valve I suppose but I personally just don't like them. A stock LP for a 6.5 or a Walbro FRB-5 is more than sufficient for a 6.2, even a modded one but...

sm465 is the equivelent of a TH400 in final drive IIRC. No highway gain. An NV4500 out of a later model 6.5 would be the way to go.

Hey great thread. My M1008 seems to be "lazy" charging and rthe gen1 light does not come on even with just key on. I'm wondering if it's the bulb.

2600$ is not that bad. First off let's rule out a TH700r4 swap cause we all know at best they are junk and still cost upwards of 1500$ to build a newer one(if you can find one) and install. So gthe other decent option is a 4l80e with a stand alone. Gonna cost you about 1500+ to buy and build one...

Can never go wrong with BF All terrains. I have them on my 1008. I love them. Unfortunately they are discontinued in my size which really really sucks but in 15" no problem.
