Ill get some good close up pics tomorrow. The hook mounted on the hood would be easy, so would the rod from the windshield. Its the latch on the end that would be tricky. Its got a spring to hold it positively closed so it cant be shaken loose in the wind.
Let him get it running to the point that you feel comfortable with, then haggle on the price. He may find out it takes way more work than he wants to put into it for 2k you want to pay and he may back out of the deal. Then you're pissed. He may do all the work and then you decide it isn't worth...
Check out 100dollarman in Cali. It might be like comparing apples to oranges but I know his trucks are way less than 24 grand.
Nothing against Boyce Equip. Im sure their stuff is top notch but for what you listed as your uses, one of hundys trucks would do.

It would say on the GL lot description page if it needs an EUC filled out. (probably does, most tactical vehicles do)

Use one of the hooks that slide into a 2" receiver hitch. The "ball" wasn't designed for the kind of shockload it will see when trying to "yank" someone that is stuck.

Thats cool, Hopefully you guys can get some documentation (aka a paper trail) on the truck, that way he can pass it on to his grandkids and they can have some proof that it really was the truck he drove "back in the war"
And it brought up some helpful info for some people that do not understand how 4x4 (6x6) works. I bet theres more than a few that have damaged some driveline parts by flipping the switch (or pushing the button in a modern 4x4) while the rear end is spinning in a mud hole.

Actually, when I was removing the bolts I put a jack-stand under the front corner of the bed because I didn't know what it was going to do. With the bolts removed it didnt do anything. Once I went to lift the tongue to fold up the landing leg, thats when it started to pivot. So I let it rest...
