Yes, carry it at all times. Also carry a socket and ratchet to use along with the tool incase of emergency and the truck needs towed.

For some other trucks I've carried extra zerk fittings in case you have a problem with one you can just swap it and put more grease in.

I will add that on some vehicles that don't have enough caster built in, it won't center after cornering so just add some bungee cords and it will help.
