I asked about hard lines when I was getting the trans rebuilt. (The guy I used does some drag strip cars too.) When I asked he said for what I was doing and the amount of rubber hose, it would not cause any issues. I made sure to run the rubber hose away from anything sharp, hot, or anything...
I have some seats out of a newer Silverado to install in my truck. Nice seats too- leather, power and heated! Problem is mine is an M1028 with the bench seat. So I'll have to to some figuring before they get put in. Ha ha.

As an update, it's been 1 year, 5 months and over 11,000 miles, and I have had a total of ZERO problems with this set up. I am very glad I took the time and effort to do this upgrade.

I live in southern California, so I didn't need a fuel heater. No disadvantages for me, especially because I had the stock filter base that I could not keep from leaking.

Hey that's my truck!!! I have a 4" lift with 37" tires in this video. It wasn't really that deep, maybe 35" at the deepest part. The water level was at about the bottom of the motor. I've been in deeper mud too- about 12" up the doors! The water was seeping thru the doors that time. :driver: Ha...
Sorry, I should have clarified a bit more. Ha ha. It came with the TH400 and the 208 transfer case, and I had the problem with it slipping out of 4wd before I swapped out the TH400 with the 4L80E. When I was doing the swap is when I had the 208 t-case rebuilt.
