Went to a gun auction went home with a M762 3/4 ton trailer!!

Very nice! Seems your inspection team are happy with it. You can tell a Marine Corps trailer by the lifting loops. They put them on M416s also. Cheers

Just purchased and await delivery of M1102 with fiberglass top. Wanna make a camper.

Yes, you asked about paint suggestions in post 1, I would not have just jumped in otherwise and said "Hey, paint your trailer! That would have been rather rude. rofl Cheers

Just purchased and await delivery of M1102 with fiberglass top. Wanna make a camper.

I haven't seen paint mentioned yet, so my 2cents - I've been happily using Gillespie paint from Rapco for about 18 years on all my stuff. Good paint, good durability (as in I haven't had to repaint stuff I painted 15+ years ago, except the black, which like all black paints fades to dark grey...

Any way to block Tappatalk image postings?

I agree with an increasing frustration with this. I find myself increasingly just closing threads with a bunch of taptalk links and moving on to the next one. I am not going to spend the time opening a bunch of links to see the content, no matter how interesting the topic may be. I understand...

M923/931 as commercial vehicle in Texas

Operating a 931 (or any other military vehicle) as a CMV in Texas means you have to pass inspection. This mean you will have to have all the proper clearance lights, etc., which the 931 does not come with. Not a big deal to add those. As others have mentioned, the 931 is really not a good...

What did you do to your trailer today.

For the enlightenment of those unfamiliar with the Austin we are referring to - the Austin K9, a truly lovely truck. Came in other versions as well (cargo, wrecker, ambulance, etc.) Cheers

What did you do to your trailer today.

Now that is a very nice trailer! What is it? Is that an Austin truck behind it? (the tan one) Cheers

air brake control on 5 ton

It is also called a Johnny Bar/Brake/Arm. Main use is to lock trailer brakes while backing the tractor under it to hook up, or forward to disengage, so the trailer doesn't roll during those operations. You hook up your air lines first, of course. I use it to check that the 5th wheel is...

What did you do to your trailer today.

I wish I had bought more too. I got used to buying M105s and M101s off Ft Hood for $125-$150. Pawnshop, Eric, and I splurged bigtime buying like-new M105A3s, which went for an exorbitant $260 apiece! (Somehow, I later ended up with all three ). I thought M1102s and the CMT-F were...

January 2019 MV of the Month Nominations

And I will continue to vote for your vehicle, regardless of how much I like the other competitors, until you win by at least one vote. ;) Cheers

    New Mule Owner

The registration number 369902 suggests it is a Marine Corps vehicle. Since the Marines put very little, if any, unit markings on their vehicles, chances of finding unit information are almost nil, unless you can find an RUC/UIC on it. This will be an M followed by five numbers, example...

Steel Soldiers MV of the month 2018 - November VOTE HERE!

It's always hard to pick one. I voted for 155 because of the almost-tie a couple of months ago, thought he deserved a really close finish on this one, which he got. The win was by 1 vote. But I really love Miggins' forklift! Had it not been for the above reason, he'd have had my vote (no...

Chinook Mishap @ OK Vet's Day Parade Investigation - 11/2018

Agreed. A lot of the veterans are used to such helos as Hueys and Cobras, and didn't ever experience the difference in rotorwash of heavy lift birds like the CH-53 and the Hook. Big surprise! The pilot(s) was hotdogging too, which often has negative results. Judgement should overrule...

    Mule not starting

Once you get your ignition worked out, good fuel helps a lot! My mule was always a cranky starter, I was using regular unleaded with additives and stabilizer. I ran it sometimes on ethanol free aviation fuel, on which it started better, but ran rather hot. Recently, I'm able to get...
