I have the side racks on my trailer, I dont see how what you suggest works. Perhaps I am missing something. Even when the front rack (and seldom seen/installed back rack, which is the exact same NSN as the front rack) is in the "stowage" position on the ouside of the trailer, the holes arent...
The newer trailers have the shipping info dataplate. It makes it easier when air/railloading when the info is right infront of your face as your doing it.
Fixing an item means you have access to parts. Try calling S&S with a "Im a fire dept, I need part # NSN, and can help me" I bet the last thing you'd hear is laughing as they hung up the phone. Sounds like a page out of the AM General customer service manual.

There are no grab handles on the BT3-C or the MBT trailers.. There are on the M100 and M416.
This trailer is a M100

Whats the landing leg and pintle look like? All...
It is an M100 as evidenced by the grab handles AND the angle iron on the from wall for the box that holds the cable. The M416 doesnt have this angle iron. http://olive-drab.com/idphoto/id_photos_m100.php
Im going, but will have a smaller footprint this year. I dont know whats up with Aberdeen, but it seems to have less and less people (both vendors and buyers) each year.
Dont assume any hour meter or odometer is correct or original to the truck. The military does NOT treat odometers like the civilian world does. Look at the condition of the truck as a whole to see if the gauges "seem" to be correct for the amount fo wear.
Bottom line, a DEMIL code change will need to occur to get HMMWV's sold thru GL like 5 tons/CUCV's/deuces. I wouldnt hold my breath on that though.....
When you use the system, it sprays a very precise amount of ether into the system. When you spray ether out of the can into the engine, it gets way more, and thats when things can go bad...
