A guy walked into a starter repair shop. He needed a replacement starter for his M1009. The guy said hey put this gear reduction starter on and you don't need the support bracket. The 28MT is a lighter starter and won't need that extra support.
I was told this story several times by guys with...
Luckily I did thanks to cuxvrus.
Some time I want to meet that guy. Copy right infringement. cuc/vrus, cuc/vsrus, cucvsrus. All covered in the US Pattent office. :)
All my CUCV M1008/M1010/M1031/ M1028A1/M1028 trucks did 70MPH + always did and still do. Stock everything. Do they scream. Yes. Is it annoying. Worst then it was 20 years ago. I got older and less tolerant of the katydids sound at highway interstate speed. My Son and I travel a lot. We both...

Yes. The AUVECO are discontinued. These are still available.
Only want GM strikers.
Please remain calm. Good things will come to those who wait. I am on task and you are on the list. Not on the bottom but on the second page. :) Have a great day. Polish your star and keep it dry.
IMHO. They are equally worthy of the task. It was just a change in design. Also again IMHO the stamped ones are less expensive. I had them both ways. It is an opinion that has never been proven and don't need to be about which ones are better. better then what? If you want them either way let me...
MOTORMAYHEM. Show me what parts you need. I will get them out to you. You don't need to spend a fortune. I probably have the parts laying here in my stash. If I have them we can deal/trade.
Uneven compression and a bad head gasket or cracked head can do the same thing. Just putting that out there. they are 30 + year old engines. History unknown.
This is my new toy. They don't make the quick attachments for the older B7100HST Kubota. I had to have this custom built. I ordered it in December and they just built it last week. It is made in Illinois. Just finished last week. I was digging for some parts today and found a few decals I made...
My newest toy is the back saver. I am not getting a younger. Time to think harder and work smarter. And I was able to get all the parts taken off and stored away. I have a few vehicles I am completely stripping and combing them on one rolling frame. With my FEL I will be able to get that task...
I bought a civilian GMC Jimmy/K5 1990. I am stripping it out for parts and an upcoming build on an M1009 I have stashed away. Handy use of collapsible tent stakes. Shame this thing has power everything and A/C. I know some guys are always looking for A/C. I spent the day traveling. I was buying...
You need the cables from an M1009? The ones that run from the firewall buss bar to the interior right cargo wall/radio rack. I will send you a set for a square trade. Contact me. Complete with new metal P clips and loom as removed from the M1009 20 years ago. I have a few sets.
Nice repurposing of the older Speedometer. I like it. I had a speedometer and gauge cluster that was rusty and faded in the Mule M1009. It worked and looked good. I loved the patina on the old cluster. I cleaned it reinstalled it and everything worked like new. Uniqueness is what it's all about...
Build the frame from a clean M1028/M1008 frame. You can add the short section right behind the cab. I send 2 new Ford's E 450's out this week to have the wheelbase stretched. The driveshaft balancing is the most expensive part. We send quite a few cut-a-way van chassis to Quigley for 4WD...
Scrap a truck because it needs a frame. No way. Change the frame. But yes the canvas seat covers will stink and destroy good clothing. I had them about a week and removed them. I opted for reupholstering. It just seems the right way to do something is the expensive way. But till you dance around...
I just use AC Delco 13G glow plugs for over 20 years in multiple CUCV's have not failed me yet. A box of 8 at the GM dealer PN 5613939 about $100. I do have all systems hooked up stock. Seems to work out this long. No use in changing it now. I even converted a couple peoples back to stock and...
Nailed it. I seen this similar set up on a Chevy Cavalier parked at the Hollywood casino. The car had 3 mini spares on it and was level full with clothing and belongings. I seen the need for security. Point taken. :)
