Hello fellow MVers.
I was reviewing my digital copy of TM9-2320-209-32-2-2.
The manual was downloaded from LOGSA a year or so ago.
Paper page number 17-638 is missing. It skips from 17-637 to 17-639.
The other missing page is 17-648. It skips from 17-647 to 17-649 and there is two identical...

Does anyone have the numbers for the bearings and races and seals for the M101A1 trailer axle? I think that I will take some new, pre-packed bearings and seals in order to avoid having to take a chance on bad bearings and/or no grease.

I have a question concerning the wheels and tires.
I too will be recovering one from about 800 miles away.
Is there a civilian wheel that will fit the hub? I can not depend on having good tires on the one that I purchased + not having a spare.
I would like to take three known-to-be-good tires...
Could someone tell me what the thread size is on the front and back axles regarding the wheel studs? Can rear axle studs be put in the front hubs without machining the hubs?
Thanks,
Jim

What's on your TM shelf
I have the following list that is in PDF format. I have no real or printed paper manuals but I do print several pages from the disc from time to time.
Paper is the best way when performing a task.
I would be glad to contribute a copy of any of these TMs to the library...
Does anyone have the size of the square shaft for the exterior door handle?
Is it 5/16 or perhaps 3/8 square stock? Approximately how far does it stick out of the handle?
Thanks in advance.

There are two ways for the light to come on. #1 water in the fuel filter causing current to flow thereby closing the switch and turning the light on. #2 is for the wires to be chafed externally to the filter and shorting together which is not very likely.
These switches are very sensitive and...
My '84 M1009 CUCV had a master cyclinder lid stamped DOT 5 Only on it when I took it away from Uncle Sam in '95. I have kept DOT 5 fluid in it and have never had any cylinder leaks or problems with moisture. I have done brake work and bled the fuid from time to time but only about every 5...
I just replaced my fuel filter with a New unit purchased off of e-bay. It was about 74.00 with shipping. It is the real CUCV filter assembly but this one did not have the pressure sensor installed. It looks like they may have done away with that. The round base is cast into the filter...
Just remember that you have modified the hitch attachment but you still have not modified the basic drive train of the truck itself.
You have a GM 10 bolt axle with a gov-lock differential doing the work.
The 10 bolt axle will last 150,000 miles and up if taken care of (180,000 on mine)
but one...
Robyn,
I would like to personally thank you so very very much for all of your help.
I'm wondering if you are the secret GI Jane. It would be really KOOL if you were.
The help that you have given us poor guys that are just
trying to own and old, uglay green truck is GREATLY appreciated.

M1009 Pintle Hitch
I have a Valley brand hitch p/n 63011. See link below.

Very important to remember, you can not tow a large trailer with a M1009 for two reasons. #1 it is a Chevy Blazer and they are...

As discussed earlier in this thread. They do indeed want very clear, color pictures of your forms of I.D. If you can not scan in a very high...

Towing M1009
You could tow the truck for a maximum of 50 miles per the GM service manual and owner's manual.
If you want, you can tow the truck for about 25 to 30 miles with engine off. Pull over, start up the CUCV and tow for about 15 miles and then stop and shut it off. Then finish trip...
The key code for the U.S. CUCV is 73Y2 as delivered from the factory. This is the B-key or commonly called the Trunk Key (rounded edges).
If your truck was loaned to another agency, they may have changed the locks but probably/ usually not. A sure way to know is to pull one of the door...
Towing a M1009
I have towed my M1009 several thousands of miles. Used it for my daily driver to work. Traveled a lot and got stranded when I had to turn over the company truck to the replacment guy coming on. Lot's of B.S. there, get a rent-a-car. Right! Rental cars are hard to find in a...
I will be picking up my first M35A2 in a month or so.
Have been reading and watching this list and G503 too.
Would it be prudent to remove the front drive hubs and rear axles shafts and install temporary hub covers or covers without shafts for flat towing? I do want locking front hubs but don't...
