On the crack in your tailgate sheet metal first drill a small hole at the very end of the crack then weld it up. If you have any other cracks drill a small hole at the end of those as well then weld up.

If its a CUCV that has a 3/4 ton rating either its a add mistake or someone swapped out the Corp 14 and replaced it with a lighter duty axle and calling it a 3/4 ton. Good luck
