Propane instead of a carb NOT as a power adder ! The carb is 40 years old it shouldn't be hard to improve on it .He's looking for improvements and the only way to find them is by looking not just dealing with it . Just looking for ideas and open discussion not to be shut down .
Thats not alot of money , it aint like it will break you . Plus whats wrong with a little more green iron ( at least thats what I keep telling myself ).
Judging by the mufflers on my gassers , the exhaust could definetely use some attention . Look at the compression it's really low so it can run on low octane gas . Mine have plenty of low end grunt , I would be a little hesitant on shooting for higher rpm's . Maybe get an overdrive to take...

Congrats doghead its a nice truck ! I told you once you decide to get an MV it snowballs from there. A year later you'll have parts all over the place and looking to aquire more , have fun !
I was at a gl once and spied some nice M52's but the guy said they either were going to other units or sold to other countries ! I guess we get the worn out ones !
It's cool , everyone needs a good work truck ! Besides you'll need it to haul home your duece project , you won't be dueceless forever . Once you decide you want an MV it doesn't take long before you start acquiring parts , trucks , etc. Alot of times my F350 isn't enough you need a bigger truck...
The 1100x20 wheels are narrower than the wheels you have now . I also think they have less offset . How much was your longer stud from Memphis ? I've got a pair of 1400x20's on the stock 5 ton truck wheels , it pinches them in a little but they work .
