Whats your thoughts on spin on primary and secondary fuel filters?

I run all spin on filters. Why? Cause I'm lazy and I can find all 3 different filters at my local auto parts store. No ordering and waiting and no fumbling with those canisters. O and that primary filter is a real P.I.T.A . Installing the primary adapter is a pain but once its there its...

Deuce refuses to start this morning.

Your looking for the cover on the side near the center with the 2 slotted screws. Remove that cover and the fuel control rod will be staring back at you. You should be able to push the bottom of that rod towards the cab. When you release it gravity should make it fall back to vertical.

    Front axle boot repair

Hit and miss. They don't dry rot but they rip much easier if snagged by something. If you most drive on the road they will probably work pretty well.

Hey gimp. You know how they actuate the cylinder?

Hydraulic Assit Steering- Another Idea Never Attempted

Eastern surplus and c&c equipent offer a kit that uses the char lynn torque generator. Seems to work pretty well but get ready to pay up. There are cheaper ways that are just as effective or at least close.

Anyone know someone to do mechanic work/diagnosis on a deuce in Oklahoma?

Your better off bypassing the fuel density compensator. Do a search on the site. That has been covered numerous times. While your at it check your engine oil. The FDC can leak fuel into the engine oil.

    Air Assist- OPINIONS wanted

Honestly I'm not sure. First thing I gotta do is get the truck back running. Which will hopefully be done or at least close to being done this weekend. The weather has been very uncooperative. Then I want to install an air dryer before I install the air o matic. We will see how things go.

    Air Assist- OPINIONS wanted

To be fair to tom his kit and a new (direct from Maradyne) air assist kit are about the same price. Maradyne sells the kits directly for $2800 and if you buy 3 or more they are $2380. Tom's kit is right in that ball park fully rigged out.

    Air Assist- OPINIONS wanted

One of my parts guys was driving a 5 ton and a front tire blew on him. He said if it weren't for the power steering he didn't think he could have kept it under control. I agree gimp, manual steering on a large truck can be a safety hazard. Especially for me with 395s with no run flats...

    long VS short airpack pics

To answer peashooters question, no the short air pack has no check valves in it. Just threaded ports for brake fluid in and out.

    long VS short airpack pics

I still don't agree. Regardless of whether one gives a little more stroke than the other my shoes were not adjusted at all when I got my truck. I had no problems with stopping once I replaced my air pak and rebuilt my mc. I replaced a short with a short. If anything the short one has a...

    long VS short airpack pics

I don't know if I agree with that. My truck came from the military with a short style and single circuit brakes. With 9.00x20 tires I could lock up all 6 and with 395's it won't quite lock them up but its close.

LED backup light and LED Rear Fog Light.

Dead as in buy a new one cause you can't fix the dang things. I gutted one to try. As far as I can tell when they go its time for a new one. I went back with regular lights cause $180 a pop is absurd.

Anyone know someone to do mechanic work/diagnosis on a deuce in Oklahoma?

You need to look for the leak with the engine running. Judging by the stain pattern it isn't the rubber supply line under the IP.

LED backup light and LED Rear Fog Light.

You can. They intended them to be grounded to the mounting bracket. I only suggest running the ground to the battery because the trucklite omnivolts seem to be very sensitive to bad grounds. I'm sure on my truck it was more of a fluke than anything but as expensive as those things are if I...

LED backup light and LED Rear Fog Light.

Run a ground back to the battery if you use trucklite led turn signals. 3 out of 4 on my truck died due to bad grounds. The leds come with a ground wire so take the extra step. I like your set up. Back up lights is a mod I definitely have on the list.

    Speedometer problems - M35a2

If you have the factory speedo drive and over sized tires your speedo will clock slower than actual road speed. I wonder if you have a 5 ton speedometer drive.

Meh, LSU's season is crap and the saints don't play till monday. Now if it will quit raining this wouldn't be a problem.
